Alex was actually lucky enough to see that happen:

New Bedford IntelliStar: Flood Warning updated *Until 11:45pm EDT*

E. Lansing: Comcast, Channel 40, STAR ID 22842

Current STAR count: 32. Be sure to see my channel for links to all the uploads!

It seems to me like this is TWC's way of "forcing" the new graphics on the legacy STARs (the XL, at least). They know that the XL is much too old and outdated to receive any sort of graphics updates, so they just remove the presence of the LDL. I strongly disagree with the XL LDL being turned off, and it will never cease to amaze me how ignorant TWC is... I know a lot of people who are lucky enough to see the XL have complained.

Actually is quite capable of doing most of the things the IS can do. Brian has done a nice job making an ldl
Willow Grove Weatherstar XL - April Fool's Day - 4/1/2010

Mike has a point. But if the warning crawls are going, wouldn't the National LDL still be visible?
Yep, that's what I call a fail. You only see part of it. :P

What do you mean? You always will see the ldl behind the scroll if its the big one. When a warning scroll is created it overlaps the ldl. Since they used to be the same size you didn't see it.

Which is exactly why I said it was a fail. Not all the weather data on the big LDL can be seen when it's being overlapped by the WWA crawls.

Does the XL not have fading capabilities like the IntelliStar does (i.e. fading in/out of text on the LDL and localonthe8s)?

LDL Question:

Is it just on the large local city LDL where there are the "tabs" for things like Now, Tonight, A Look Ahead, Radar, etc? :dunno: I thought those "tabs" were on the small one too...I guess not.

They are not on the small one but the National Small LDL has the next 3 or 4 cities lined up like Tabs.

Are you saying the national large ldl was on and the small IS ldl was overtop of it? If so thats nothing new. Happens now and then

Finally, looks like the Intellistar's local time has been added on the LDL. Looks a bit small though.

The Temp seems to have been shrunken, moved to the left and the Time just to it's right, still kinda tiny on the Large LDL

Took 'em long enough... and I agree, it's too small. Should be the same size as the temperature.
