I have a great idea! How about we go back to the one blue LDL that actually worked and did not have nearly as many issues?
*chuckles* Yeah, I like that idea :P
Wishful thinking, I know...

It only happens if a. the star doesn't cue correctly or b. TWC forgets or has problems raising the background bar. It would be a pain to push every single sponsor logo to the STAR.
Oh, the logos are put up manually? That must be a pain. I knew this LDL would be pushing the Intellistar's limits, I know even the blue one was sort of pushing it.

Yep thats the whole idea of the non built in part of the ldl. Otherwise each night the IS would have to receive whatever images it needs for certain days and schedules to display the logos. Probably a lot more complicated than it sounds. The way they have it now its just a simple overlay. Actually the IS is an extremely powerful system. Probably even capable of more than what its doing now.

I really wish they would just expand the LDL all the way over to the other side so they don't have to worry about that happening so much.

update on the LDL on the LOT8s on Dish Network, the old LDL has return for the LOT8s after being gone for a few weeks, plus the new LDL is still working during the normal segments.

The national LDLs aren't put on by the ISs, but rather at TWC themselves.

IMO, the XL LDL should still show at least when the smaller national/intellistar LDL is being used, so people can at least see their local weather in the morning and early evening when they need it most, as well as during long-form and movie time when local forecasts only show twice an hour or less.

I don't get why gfx r tha reason 4 them to turn the xl LDL off. Most people wouldn't care anyways they just want weather info for their area not cities hundreds of miles away

It seems to me like this is TWC's way of "forcing" the new graphics on the legacy STARs (the XL, at least). They know that the XL is much too old and outdated to receive any sort of graphics updates, so they just remove the presence of the LDL. I strongly disagree with the XL LDL being turned off, and it will never cease to amaze me how ignorant TWC is... I know a lot of people who are lucky enough to see the XL have complained.

I totally agree to both of you. Just because it doesn't match with the on-air graphics doesn't give TWC an excuse to turn it off. The XL LDL matches just fine with the on-air graphics anyway.

Mike has a point. But if the warning crawls are going, wouldn't the National LDL still be visible?
