As you probably know by now, the original Warning crawls are still in use. I saw it for a split second as a teacher was flipping to a basketball game when Shelby County was under a warning.

Thanks for shrinking down that picture for us, Alex.  It was going way off the screen earlier. :P

So TWC couldn't do something like this?  (I just used my radar img, which again is dependent on advertising requirements)

The problem with that is font size, how easily it can be noticed, and how long the text is displayed. The old one still achieves all of these, which is why I believe TWC hasn't updated the warning LDL.

Good concept...I think using that space for ads is ridiculously STUPID because it's just dead space.  They need to go back to doing like they used to do: put the ad boxes in the top right corner again on the banner (just like in the local forecasts).  Make it a little bigger so it can be seen while on the projection screen.  Keep the radar on the double-stack LDL (as shown) and stop making bad decisions :D

The only reason its not updated is because its so hard to mess with (literally its a major pain) and it wont match the IS

Two more LDL questions, if you all don't mind:

1) The icons on my National LDLs do NOT animate. Is this true for everyone, or is it an error?

2) Do any of the HD LDLs show local information, or just national information to synchronize with the LDA?

Oh yea probably wont animate since there are so many icons next to each other at times. TWC didn't want it too distracting I guess

The icons on the national LDLs do not animate as Martin pointed out in his above post, and the HD LDLs just show national information that is synchronized with the LDA.

The local LDL never cued for long-form at 2 PM ET, so I'm currently seeing the small version of the national LDL.

I find it strange that the national LDL has a different TWC logo. There's no shadow, no mirrored logo, and the weather.com font is not Interstate.
