I agree.  I hope there will be some serious tweaking in the next couple weeks to make it better...instead of having numbers thrown all around and wasting screen space!

Here is a mock I made with a permanent radar in the blank space - I would highly recommend this for severe weather incidents, and as a permanent feature depending on the promotional space requirements...

Since the rollout of this new LDL, and the retirement of the XL's black LDL, does that mean weather alerts such as watches & severe warnings will no longer appear as well?
Alerts should still scroll on the XL

I was also surprised to see this, but I like it. ;)It just needs the date and clock.

Ok, a lot of the day has gone by...and the LDL has been growing on me.  I enjoy the compact version a lot more than the "full" 1/3 screen version...but I still think they need to do the following:
1. Expand it to utilize more of the screen
2. Add the clock
3. Get rid of the on/off transition that shows just the blue on the bottom of the screen with no info
4. Solidify the temp position - i.e. like before, time/temp for the main location.  Don't get me wrong, I like seeing the current temp of surrounding locations, it's just confusing for less avid viewers to have the temperature changing all the time (especially since it's never been that way on TWC)
5. Get rid of the HD feed's national city list on the right side...bottom is more acceptable I suppose...more-so annoying with how much space it wastes for places I don't care about! :P
6. Change the brown/gold/yellow to more of a yellowish gold or perhaps light blue (like on the old LDL).  It seems very out of place compared to the rest of the graphics updates
7. Get rid of the goofy cheese wheel sun!

Can you fill me in as to why they decided not to insert a clock into the national LDL, as well as getting rid of air quality, airports, travel forecast, and especially traffic data?
Not important enough to the average viewer.

None of those were thought of to be "useful" by the average viewer.

Have the warning scrolls changed?
Nope.

:rofl2: dude. you crack me up with that graphic. I agree with you on the LDL. They need to add more stuff such as the clock. Have you seen Matt (tpirfan28)'s mock ldl? I prefer it exactly like that, just to get rid of all that space.

If TWC add some "glow" to the sun, then it wouldnt be a cheeseball.

That space will eventually be filled up with ads, so dont worry!
