I hate to admit it, but I do love the new weather icons as well as the LDL. Bravo, TWC! (Sorry, I wasn't online in quite a long time. I don't know why. )

Is there any reason for the tall AND short LDLs?

HD feed

Not showing up like this on my HD feed on DirecTV. Old heavy rain icon showing for forecast and cloudy icon for current conditions whatever the actual text says. Only change as shown by Martin is the radar with the city name displaying. No extended forecast bar on the bottom.

However, looking at Martin's youtube clip, appears that the same errors with showing cloudy for current conditions and excessive rain in extended were happening there as well. Perhaps they're trying to fix it?

I basically have the same (without the HD of course). I don't expect a change to the direcTV LF soon.

And I feel super bad to those HD viewers who are cluttered by the new sidebar/L Bar. I think the picture is just too small.

Actually the sidebar has been present for a long time on HD. The main changes I can see from Martin's clip on that is to add a feel like temperature, move down the wind indicator from the side of the temperature to below the feel like temp, replace the 3-day extended with a 6-hr forecast, and add the city name to the radar. Thus the bottom bar for the extended. And having a bottom bar doesn't make much difference, because for a lot of the time, there are title graphics that clutter that part of the screen anyway. It would actually be preferable to have the arrangement Martin shows than seeing the generic rolling cities TWC shows now (right now in the South...)

it looks like TWC is trying to take a professional approach graphic-wise...i'm not a fan of the new LDL, i'll definitely miss the old one. the lowerthirds, however are quite nice.

Seems like a bit much - so there's 3 LDLs now?  Tall, short, and the one on the LF that keeps the old blue style?

i have the  new LDL here right now.. only the SD feed has it, not the HD... and its only during on air segments, not the LF.. new graphics for the LF though

I am pissed about the bottom bar. Makes the screen size even smaller on the hd channel

Old icons I think are temporary. This release was intended without the icons last week. I have a feelings things were rushed to get the icons ready and implemented.
