OMG Timothy Drury! The Rippingtons! :)
But Green Onions and White Castle Blues?
Nice to see TWC is starting the playlist on the 1st for once... hasn't been like that since March 2009!
-
Looks like a good playlist so far, especially with The Rippingtons, Jay Soto and a few others.
Weeks earlier, I've heard "Undun" by Steve Cole on Smooth Jazz 107.5 HD-2 The Oasis (http://www.smothjazz1075.com) in my area, so that song should be fitting to the LOT8s.

Been waiting all last year for that. I'm glad to see Jay Soto, Timothy Drury and The Rippingtons (although I wish they used their Modern Art CD) back.
Primetime looks good, only a few repeats. That Isaac Hayes song title is really long.
-
10/10 list on paper, can't wait to hear it tomorrow.
-
White Castle Blues?
At last check, you told me you loved that song..(and this was after it was repeated in summer of last year)
-
Rock Steady? jeez
and whats a list without RF? play his classic stuff!! :P
Good to see Oxygen from Mars.. i liked it from 09 :) and Ralph Diekemper?? whoa :o
EDIT: I see some stuff of his on there (yeah...one track )
EDIT #2: Carribean Breeze!!? Thats one of my favorite Rippingtons songs :thrilled:
-
Playlist looks pretty promising. Good to have the Rippingtons back! She Likes To Watch and Caribbean Breeze are two classics. The Rippingtons haven't been played since 2009, when Brave New World was played. Also glad to have Jay Soto return! Terminal Frost is more a summer song to me, though. Not too excited to hear White Castle Blues either. Other than that, it looks good.
-
Wow, surprising list. 9/10.
-
Night Drive in the morning? Nice to see John Klemmer. I don't he's been played since '89.
-

IMO, that should be in overnight, not morning or primetime.
-
For once, the primetime looks promising, at least at first glance.
-
I already miss the old playlist, but this one looks promising.
The new playlist premiered already. Green Onions at :48.
-

if you were awake @ 1:08am ET/ 12:08am CT then you would've heard the official start :P

That's what I was thinking.
-
She Likes to Watch at :08. It has a bad cut, IMO.
-
Some unknown song just played at :18 and :48 (seems to play only on K flavors)..I wonder if it's not listed
-

I agree to an extent
they should have timed out at the end of the high sax part, instead of at the beginning of it.

Amazing! I knew that song on the 4th video was a Chris Geith song! I LOVE it! <3
-
I see that we actually have a playlist that everyone likes for the most part. I'm pleasantly surprised as well.
-
Another good solid playlist from what I've heard so far. It's nice to see Timothy Drury return, "Going the Distance" was one of the best songs I remember playing in the Summer of 2006 and even though it's been used a lot in the past couple of years, I think the cut of "The Sound of Philadelphia" being used in this playlist is the best one. Also Rock Steady is back! It's kinda weird hearing it play at night though.
The con to this playlist: Green Onions is back, :itsok: I hate that song so much.
-
It is still good to hear the Rippingtons. From the time I found the title of one of their songs, I kept buying cassettes.
I still have my Weekend in Monaco cassette and play it often.

Best:
Morning: Ben Kopec - In The Spotlight or Timothy Drury - Night Drive
Daytime: Chris Geith - Oxygen From Mars and Timothy Drury - Going the Distance
Primetime: Same as morning, and also the Issac Hayes song
Overnight: Brian O'Neal - Cocomatic
Worst:
Morning: Booker T - Green Onions (  )
Daytime: Matthew Shulman - Mixed Emotion (its an ok song but too slow for daytime)
Primetime: Pink Floyd - Terminal Frost (again,)
Overnight: None
Playlist as a whole: 8/10
-
There's a song on the Overnight list that sounds oddly familiar to "Christmas Canon" by TSO. Does anyone know which song I'm refering to?

Canon in D - Ralph Diekemper

Pretty unusual to have a Christmas song playing at this time. :hmm:

Its not a Christmas song... Canon in D is a classical song.. all TSO did was added lyrics to it that were relevant to Christmas
-
Best:
Morning: Ryan Farish - Searching & Timothy Drury - Night Drive
Daytime: Jay Soto - The Groove Merchant and Timothy Drury - Going the Distance
Primetime: Rock Steady, that Isaac Hayes song with the long ass title and Fly Away (Birds Eye View Mix) by Trance Fury
Overnight: Brian O'Neal - Cocomatic
Worst:
Morning: Booker T - Green Onions (God, I can't stand this song)
Daytime: Matthew Shuman - Mixed Emotion (Daytime should be jazz, not piano music..)
Primetime: Pink Floyd - Terminal Frost (Sick and tired of it. Can't they play Run LIke Hell, One of these Days, or Comfortably Numb instead?)
Overnight: None
-

I agree. Outside of a few repeats, this is a balanced playlist.
-
Best
Morning: Night Drive by Timothy Drury (pre June 2009 repeats ftw)
Daytime: Timothy Drury- Going to Distance
Primetime: Jessica May - The Timeout Drawer
Overnight: Cocomatic - Brian O'Neal
Worst
Morning: White Castle Blues - The Smithereens (I DON'T WANT ANY MORE REPEATS AFTER SPRING 09!) and Green Onions - Booker T and the MG's (tiring and annoying)
Daytime: Oxygen from Mars by Chris Geith (not fond of it.I wish they used good songs like Blue Horizons and Above the Clouds)
Primetime: Terminal Frost - Pink Floyd (same reason as I put in White Castle Blues)
Overnight: None.
Morning: Good, but can do it without the 2 songs I hate.
Daytime: Best.
Primetime: A huge improvement since October 2009.
Overnight: 2nd best.
Overall: 3rd straight good playlist in a row. I wish they reduce the repeats from June 2009-2010 because I'm sick of it. I want repeats before those times. 9/10

One of my favorite daytime songs is NuGroove by Nate Harasim, but it seldom plays. In fact, I have only heard it play maybe twice since the playlist started. :dunno:

-
Yeah, I heard it, too. :P
-
"You Don't Know" - Mouth of Wilson. Great song from the Morning list. It looks like it's a 1:30 song.

I thought Soto was an ASCAP artist now - did he go back to BMI?
