New song at :28
-
Alright! Finally a new playlist!
And some jazz on the Primetime. Good!
-
Whew, finally. Now we can quit complaining about the old one, lol. I was ready for a new one, though. I just heard a song I liked at 4:28 my time.

It kind of sounds like Paul Taylor, IMO.
-
Sounds like Mark Krurnowski @ :58

Yes, now we can FINALLY stop complaining on when a new one will come out. Seems like TWC picked an odd time to launch this new playlist, though. Is 4:00 considered primetime already? :dunno:

Yeah, and the same song that aired at 5:28 PM EDT.
-
"Under the Umbrella" - Thomas Newman from the May 2010 Morning list at 6:58 PM EDT.
-
Complaining is nature if you've followed music on TWC like me for a long time :P jk.
Sounded like a orchestra piece at 6:58pm
-
:18 - Supernova by Ryan Farish!!!!
-
Sounds like John Williams at :28. <_<

Layla at :48.
-
I saw that one coming weeks ago
wouldnt be surprised if Plurality by Gooding is used either :itsok:
-
Layla at :58.
This has been used every odd summer year it seems: 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011.
-
Layla appears to be an annual tradition on the primetime list. (That is, since 2009.)
-
i have an odd feeling that Overnight won't start tonight.
-
Layla at :58.

Everyones favorite :D
Layla - Derek and the Dominos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBiENOMDfMI#ws)

I know the song at 5:58 but prefer to not say it..

Oops, I forgot. :blushing: But it is a summer primetime tradition anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if Terminal Frost and Can't You Hear Me Knocking appear, too.

That kinda pulls a Rock Steady if you ask me.. (played only 3 playlists after its original airing )
I know the song at 5:58 but prefer to not say it..
Whats wrong with posting the title? Its not classified info you know ;)

Because of a certain person lurking around here..

Ah, him. I know whom you speak of <_<
-
RPM by Boney James at :58  (from 9/08)
-
RPM by Boney James at :58  (from 9/08)
Wow! It is about time they played upbeat Boney James songs like that. It was getting boring with all these slow, sleepy Boney James songs. ;)
-
Rattle and Burn at 9:28 PM EDT.
-
Quite a few repeats in primetime.
-
God, I hate that song so much
-
Look out, it looks like there's a few songs on this list that WMG gets pissy about.
-
Really not happy how the Little Woman Soundtrack song is being overplayed this evening
-
Really not happy how the Little Woman Soundtrack song is being overplayed this evening
Me too, I am getting tired of hearing it! :hammer:
-
Under the Umbrella is being too overplayed this evening...
-
Yup with the exception of 10:48, it has played on every single lf within the past hour
-
I actually like that song...just not so many times. I hope there's not a problem with the new playlist.
-
as i predicted, Overnight has not transitioned to the new playlist.
Fallen Snow - Matthew C. Shuman at :08
posted too fast, new music at :18
-
Was that Brian Hughes at :28? If so, it's the first time since 09 he's been played.
-
Heard "Over and Over" by Brian Hughes at 1:28, which was previously heard back in August and September 2006 Daytime.
-
OMG BRIAN HUGHES??! :o
-
Brian Hughes huh...That's great to hear. From what I can tell so far this playlist might be good even with Layla. I've accepted that song as being a bi-annual tradition (with the exception of 2010 since it aired then also.) What's more odd is it keeps playing in July.

I gotta agree with ya there. These slow songs of his were getting a little tiresome.
Rattle and Burn at 9:28 PM EDT.
Rattle and Burn at night?
-
Wow Brian Hughes, that is something!! Liking this list so far
-
Can't wait to see what morning and daytime will bring :)
-
In the Light - DC Talk @ 8:08 AM ET
sounds like Craig Chaquico @ :18
-
While I couldn't sleep last night, I heard an overnight song that sounded like it could be from Paul Tegel.
-
Sounds like 7and5 @ 8:58
-
Sounds like Mark Krurnowski @ :58
Well, whatever it was got my audio muted on Youtube.
-
Master Cylinder - jung at heart @ 9:08 :D
-
OMG BRIAN HUGHES??! :o
Thats cool.I remember back in 2007 when members were complaining that he was overplayed. Brian has two new CDs out since - No Reservations live audio DVD and Fast Track to A Quiet Place which he just put out. I m guessing maybe some tracks from his newest CD might end up on this playlist
-
Craig c @ :28
-
I like that song from the January 2010 morning list. That was a good month for me, so that's why I like it. I also really like this list so far, too.
-
BRIAN HUGHES?! Yes!
Jung at Heart - Master Cylinder played at 9:38 AM EDT.
-
Bonus points to anyone who can get Over and Over in HD up...
-
9:48 sounds like candy dulfer..
-
:18 was Cafe Carnival by Craig Chaquico. :28 and :58 was Windchimes and Forever by 7and5, respectively. Paul Taylors Say No More from primetime is also on the overnight list, and I suspect many more daypart carryovers...
-

Yeah same here, I think Rattle/Burn is on the daytime list..
-
Windchimes sounds like it's also on overnight, doesn't sound like a morning song at all
-
"In The Light" has a much later cut than October 2010.
-
:08 Tribal Runner by Craig Chaquico and Russ Freeman from August 2002
-
Craig C to kick off daytime @ :08
damn.. beat by Vic xD
Im recording daytime.. only uploading favs
-
Wow I have that song at :18 but can't say the name for the same reason. Hopefully they toss in some classics
-
Boney James - See What I'm Sayin' at :48.
-
They are playing a lot of throwback songs, like the Boney James one that just played a couple of minutes ago. I remember it from years ago.
EDIT: That's the name of it, "See What I'm Sayin'"
-
THAT WAS BONEY?
-
Was that RPM that played at :08? So far, I don't like any of the songs on the daytime list. And why is it that every primetime smooth jazz song is carried over to another daypart? In January, Night Flight was also on overnight, last month Checkin You Out was also on primetime and now on this one,RPM and Say No More on daytime and overnight, respectively. Diamond Eyes, and Freddie Freeloader from last year were also carried over to other dayparts in those playlists they were used, and other playlists had primetimes with jazz repeats like Lily Was Here (This was the last new primetime exclusive jazz song from 1/10),You're Always Around, etc and some lists like December 2010 and this past March/April had no jazz music on primetime.
-
Sounds like Matthew Schuman at 1:28 PM EDT.
-
Anyone have the playlist yet? :dunno:
-
I'm loving this playlist! :)
-
Maybe no "n/a" songs on this playlist, if so it would be the first playlist without any since September 2002
Nope, a new Chris Geith song played at 7:18 and one that sounds like Steve Glotzer during the overnight hoursand we very well, know what that deal is..
-
Wasn't June 2009 free of N/A songs? Even the Jeanne Ricks song was eventually released to the public even though it's listed as N/A.
-
See what I'm saying by boney James is also on the primetime playlist
-
"In The Light" - DC Talk is on the Primetime list, with the same cut as October 2010.
-
Derek and the Dominoes at :08
-
There are 4 jazz songs on primetime - RPM, See What I'm sayin, say to me and Rattle and Burn. I think that's a first !

Yeah, me too! It is nice that TWC has brought back a lot of classics, not just the same old repeats from 2009 and 2010.

One of my favorites from the May 2008 list.
It's playing right now on the daytime list also.
-
What is the name of that song with the saxophone and bass at :48? Sounds like Wayman Tisdale.
-
Back to Basics by Marcus Anderson. I also just got the playlist , but Im headed to NYC now so I'll post it once I get there
-
I heard "No More Sages" by Maserati earlier this evening.
-
It looks like "Forever" by 7and5 isn't listed in the playlist. I suspect the songs were just "testing" when the list started on Tuesday. If anything, I would've preferred that over Here She Comes since that song is also playing on daytime.

Awesome playlist, best since April/May 2009!
Yeah, a lot more smooth jazz this time, especially in primetime. Some good classics were brought back from 08 and beyond.
-
I was hoping for Yvonne to make a comeback
Chris geiths song is just amazing :thrilled:
Brian Hughes being back too is just freakin awesome!
-
Once again TWC misspells Derek and the Dominos. <_<
-
I'm really liking this playlist too. Still, I am eagerly awaiting the day when TWC will chose to play "Oasis" by Ryan Farish or "Above the Clouds" by Chris Geith. Those two are my most favorite songs since I started watching TWC actively again in 2008. Oh, and I can't forget "Unbitten" in the Beach Street Music Album. I wish that was used this time like last year. Love that song.
All in all, nice playlist. :)
-
Look what I found from 7and5. Go to mp3drug website and search "Windchimes", and click on play.

Primetime: Kenny Kilgore - South Michigan Ave
Overnight: JWB - Echoes and Brian Hughes - Over and Over
Worst:
Morning: Boney James - Here She Comes (doesn't catch my ear)
Daytime: Matthew Shuman - Chasing in the Wind (too slow for daytime)
Primetime: Under the Umbrella, No More Sages, Rattle and Burn (boring repeats)
Overnight: Stanley Turrentine - Side Steppin (Yes, it is one of my favorites on daytime but it doesn't fit on the overnight list at all)
Morning - 6/10
Daytime - 5/10
Primetime - 4/10
Overnight - 9/10
Overall - 7/10
-
Best:
Morning: Cafe Carnival, both Paul Taylor songs
Daytime: See What I'm Sayin', RPM, Sidesteppin', One More Time, Tribal Runner, Afterglow
Primetime: Supernova, RPM, See What I'm Sayin'
Overnight: Echoes, Over and Over, My Last One, In the House
Worst:
Morning: Here She Comes (not that great to play in two dayparts :itsok:)
Daytime: Chasing the Wind (all Matthew Schuman songs sound out of place on daytime :dunno:)
Primetime: Under the Umbrella (don't like orchestral theme music on TWC), No More Sages (Maserati is not my style)
Overnight: None
-
wow, I keep forgetting Over and Over is on the playlist. I gotta record my clip of that song that soon
-
Best:
Morning: Boney James - Here She Comes (am I the only one who likes that song? :hmm:)
Daytime: Chaquico/Freeman - Tribal Runner or Boney James - See What I'm Sayin
Primetime: Kenny Kilgore - South Michigan Ave or Lab Partners - Backs to the Wall
Overnight: Trance Fury - Meteor Shower

Daytime: Stanley Turrentine - Side Steppin'
Primetime: Lab Partners - Back's to the Wall
Overnight: Stanton Lanier - Solitude
Worst
Morning: Boney James - Here She Comes (not a bad song though just not the best)
Daytime: Craig Chaquico - Tribal Runner & Matthew Shuman - Chasin' In The Wind (Eh, not feelin' it, I also agree the latter should play in the overnight instead.)
Primetime: Maserati - No More Sages (I always hated this song the first time around)
Overnight: Not sure yet, I haven't heard them all.
-
Am I the only one who actually like the Maserati songs TWC plays?
-
After finally listening to the entire playlist today due to vacation and work keeping me busy, here's my top ten songs from this playlist:
- Andromeda - Chris Geith
- Supernova - Ryan Farish
- In the House - Yvonne Ayers
- Windchimes - 7and5
- Cafe Carnival (Sax in the Sun Remix) - Craig Chaquico
- South Michigan Avenue - Kenny Kilgore
- Over and Over - Brian Hughes
- Echoes - The JWB
- One More Time - Brian Simpson
- Solitude - Stanton Lanier
If some of you feel that you have very odd musical tastes as no one else likes the songs you enjoy, how do you think I feel by putting down my #1 as a new song that hardly anyone has even mentioned here? I almost always pick songs no one else does or rank songs much higher or lower than other people, which makes me wonder if I'm just that weird. :hmm: Any thoughts on my list?
-
Best
Morning: Possibly Andromeda - Chris Geith
Daytime: M Power- Marcus Anderson
Primetime: I don't know. (I like the jazz songs but they're not fitting on primetime)
Overnight: IDK
Worst
Morning: In the Light-DC Talk (I hate this cut. It didn't make me recognize the song.)
Daytime: Chasing in the Wind - Matthew C. Shuman (This song makes me even more bored...)
Primetime: Your Hand in Mine - Explosions in the Sky and Under the Umbrella- Thomas Newman (I heard these songs too much. <_<)
Overnight: None
-
I don't like Andromeda, it's too uplifting for my liking.
-

No, I like your list a lot. I actually prefer to be an oddball and go against what the majority thinks. I like being unique that way.
My favorites for morning: "Cafe Carnival (Sax in Sun Remix)," "Moment of Truth" by Paul Taylor, and "Jung at Heart."
Daytime: Both by Craig Chaquico--"Afterglow" and "Tribal Runner."
Primetime: "Supernova" by Ryan Farish, "South Michigan Avenue" by Kenny Kilgore, "No More Sages" by Maserati, and "Under the Umbrella" by Thomas Newnan when it's not overplayed.
Overnight: I'm never up that late, so I didn't hear those songs enough. :P

I like a lot of those songs
-
Thanks, Mike and Christina for the positive feedback. I always feel scared to share any of my musical tastes due to how much I seem to stray away from the vast majority. I still can like some modern TWC playlists even though I like the classic ones better.
I don't like Andromeda, it's too uplifting for my liking.
As you can tell, I really like uplifting songs. I need a lot of positivity to make sure I don't fall back into the bad times years ago.

rotation issues still ongoing... its honestly 2002 again since there arent any dayparts :o :P
Chasing in the wind by matthew c shuman was used @ 5:38 am today ..
-
Oh, so it's rotation issues. I was wondering why I was hearing different songs in the evening. I really like some of them, though.
It's hard to believe we've already had this list for almost 2 months. I'm actually going to miss this playlist, and I'm usually very neutral to this kind of thing. Definitely one of my favorites in a while.
-
Even though it appears to be a rotation issue, the daytime and morning jazz mixed into the primetime has given the playlist a nostalgic feel, like how TWC used to be, at least until the end of May 2009.
-
It's a pretty good playlist, although a majority of the songs sound the same to me.
-

I've been thinking that for the last 13 years. ;)
-
I couldve sworn I heard a new song at :28..someone correct me if I'm wrong though
-
I didn't tune in at that time. I just heard Brian Simpson at :38.
-
I think a month of nothing but Ryan Farish music is in order. Who else thinks so?
-
No way that would ever happen...
-

Only an idea

We haven't had a month(s) full of one artist since Trammell Starks in 97. :P

Horizon - Paul Taylor played 9:28pm Friday night.
