They have Ryan farish and Eddie Reasoner in the playlist. I'm satisifed

This looks like a great playlist! Only one Eddie Reasoner song on there, though. Clear & Cool doesn't really fit as an "overnight" song either. That should of been put on primetime, IMO. They also put the wrong album title for that song too, the album name for that is Special Weather.

Other than that, great playlist! :D Great to see Ryan Farish and Mark K back on there too. The best playlist since March.

Going Home by Mark K...not since Mar '07.

Why is the Overnight list better than the other two?   <_<

Why is the Overnight list better than the other two?

The overnight portion always seems to be the best on the playlist. I don't know why.

Yeah please. I enjoy your overnight clips alot.

Anways here's the thing that kinda upsets me. It seems that in every playlist they're adding music from never-before-heard artists. Also their's no pattern. When Steve used to play music every playlist had Mark Krurnowski, Brian Hughes and Ryan Farish. Now music from these artists play maybe once every 3 to 4 playlists.

I like the playlist VIctor, especially Ryan Farish. I am glad there are some neat artists in this though

I will be in India sometime this month, so I may or may not have time to record

According to this article: http://www.scottward.ca/home/about-scott-ward Scott Ward composes all of his music with a MacBook Pro very interesting. If this is the Scott Ward who composed TWC music, then why would a Canadian like him send music to the Weather Channel in the US? Selkirk, ON doesn't even have TWC. Anyways, I contacted him for the songs.

Nope, that's not him.

I only be using my WinTV HVR 950 to record primetime clips and possibly a few daytime. As for overnight, my Slingbox.

Chuck commented this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gCjm4aQxIs): and he said it's Spring Tune by Alan Knieter yet Alan said the other video i linked above is Spring Tune. I'm confused

I'm going with Chuck's word since he has the CD but that's odd Alan said the first song is his...

Wow! I can't believe they are playing "Walking in Rhythm"! Very interesting to see a remake of a popular 70's song air on TWC!

I also heard Pressing On/Get Back this month too! That's probably my favorite song!

I can't believe they are playing Shelby Layne! Too bad it's a terrible cut, though. The 2002 cut was MUCH better, and seemed well-choreographed to the LF.

They didn't even include the violin/viola solo. :(

I heard Clear and Cool, for the first time since 2003! Very cool!

Despite the awful clarinet song during the daytime, this is an awesome playlist! Thumbs up to Brian Picard. Last month's playlist seemed to last forever. :(

Cool! :twothumbs: :twothumbs:

The Chris Geith songs are Network Music songs (remember the July 1993 playlist), which may explain why they sound that way.

By golly, it's playing again this local forecast!

Yep that's the same artist as Happy Thoughts. It's Little Waves by Coleman and Brown.
I have a satellite clip of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmVe-4P1EL0

Does anyone know the timein for "Shelby Layne" by Bob Rafkin?

One of the songs on the Daytime portion of this month's playlist I enjoyed is "Miss Peaches" by Kyle Wolverton.

I was thinking is it ok if I post the August 2008 playlist on August 1st? I like it that way because if I post it 2 weeks early then everyone is going to start saying 'COME ON LET THIS SONG PLAY ALREADY" or "I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR COCCOON BY SAMUEL LINCOLN!" and it gets annoying and frustrating for even myself.

That way when the playlist starts it will be "more appealing" and people could be on the lookout to hear "surprise songs" on the lf

Yeah, that's fine. I don't understand what was with the competition of posting the next month's playlist so early.

Me neither. Plus I don't want to be the one who always posts playlist. It gets annoying...

There's nothing annoying about it Vic. Its very helpful! You post those playlists whenever you want!  B)

Thanks Gary.

But I'll ask someone else to post the playlist. I'll still post clips of all 35 songs in the playlist though.

That's ok if someone else wants to. But if no one else does than you'll have to!

BTW, does this go for TWCC too?  :ermm:

Maybe. I am not in the mood for posting playlist though. Just clips. Plus if I post a playlist I only get like 10 replies (all non TWCT members) unlike 101 here.

Shelby Layne has a bad time-in. They chose a cut so the first minute is very repetitive. I prefer the cut that was used back in May 2002.

Do you know the exact time-in of the song? I also need the time-in for Clear and Cool.

Not sure about Shelby Layne, but Clear and Cool's time in is :04.

Yes, Shelby Layne has the worst time-in of any song on the playlist. I'd say its somewhere between :00 and :15

I find the new flavor lineup confusing. Pressing On fit great with the old flavor lineup.
Title: Re: July 2008 Playlist

Flavor lineups have been confusing since September 2004. I preferred the lineups used before then because there were less screens in each forecast.

It means that the playlist hasn't been assembled yet. If the playlist was available, then he'd email it to us.

This is quite bad, because I need to ID the songs a few days early, to make my song and video ID's easier.

It's better then uploading a video named "AugDay5" and "AugDay6" then realizing they're the same song >_<

If you have the playlist, post it! B)

I've tried calling the WeatherStar viewer's department that's apparently held by Chris several times, and have not gotten a response and instead an answering machine. I wonder if he is away or something.

No, not for the playlist, but to submit feedback about something. The Star Dept. doesn't take care of playlists.

AFAIK, no. The best person to contact would be Chris or Brian Picard.
