I've decided to start a topic on jazz songs that should air on The Weather Channel's Local on the 8s.
To start off, Joshua Redman (best known for "Courage (Asymmetric Aria)" among a few others formed a jazz group named James Farm, and their recently released self-titled album has some great tracks. Go to the link and listen.
http://www.jamesfarmmusic.com (http://www.jamesfarmmusic.com)
My top tracks for TWC's playlists are "Coax", "Polliwog", "1981", and "Unravel".

If y'all have any favorite jazz instrumental tracks that should be on TWC's playlist if it wasn't already, go ahead and list them.

Dave Koz's version of Linus and Lucy I love his jazzy twist on it.
IntelliStar - December 18, 2009 7:28am (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j37a7jsYq_c#)
I dubbed it into this video since the original Linus and Lucy by Vince Guaraldi would be muted.

That is funny. I tested that song on a test playlist back when I had my LoT8's HD account. It's on BMI, too, so perhaps TWC will look into this piece.

Max Groove - This I Promise You
(This song actually reminds me of another song that has played on TWC before, but I can't put my finger on it right now.)
It would probably fit best in the overnight or morning hours

-
David Sanborn Chicago Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWd4bNe9MlY#)
I wonder if this song ever played on TWC. It would be surprising if it didn't.

That song sounds really familiar. Either way, good beat with that one.
-
Ron Fattorusso & Gary Farr - You Love Me (feat. Ron Fattorusso)
Ron Fattorusso & Gary Farr - Wedding Day Song
-
any jazz or instrumental song would be good considering the garbage that's on the LF these days
-
I'm a fan of Kirk Whalum's "The Wave"--the one on his Roundtrip album. Nothing says relaxation like that song does.
-
I would like to hear "she's all that" by Doug markley
-
But that's already been on TWC, hasn't it?

Oops you're right, I got it mixed up with the other thread >.<

More non-jazz, but this would fit with the current selection.
Bobby Brown - My Prerogative Instrumental (New Jack Swing) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhidrbB2Myw#)
-
It has vocals, but it's a very great song with some jazz in it. One of my favorite songs ever and my favorite from Chicago.

BUMP!
I was going to start a new thread about songs you wish you could hear on TWC right now, but I changed my mind. It's a bit unorthodox since these are jazzy re-arrangements of themes from a video game, but I think these would have fit in perfectly with other smooth jazz song selections in past playlists. The name of the 2 disc album it's from is simply called "Super Mario World"
http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_World_(album) (http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_World_(album))
Here's some examples...
Peaceful Mushroom World
