I noticed for the 6:58am ET Local on Sunday "Eminence Front" was back.
It went a little longer with more of the beginning lyrics being heard.

Hi Alex,
As you know, the music on The Weather Channel has been evolving over the last several years toward a more appropriate play list. The music played during full-screen Local on the 8s on The Weather Channel during the afternoon and morning day parts continues to adapt. We do not foresee smooth jazz selections in future playlists. Going forward, our music team will keep investigating different genres to stay fresh and align with The Weather Channel brand.
As always, all BMI-licensed music, as well as unregistered music (with appropriate approval from the musician) will be considered.
My thoughts in a nutshell:

"More appropriate playlist" and "afternoon and morning dayparts continuing to adapt" makes no sense whatsoever.

And if smooth jazz isn't popular on TWC, then why did they release 2 CDs on said genre? They even did promos saying that a lot of people enjoyed the "elevator music."

There was a weird incident at 5:48pm ET, when Fireworks by Moby started to play, and then it was interrupted by some other song that sounded like 7and5, and the song ended, and Oscillate Wildly actually began to play towards the end of the LF.

Frank Mitchell: Jetsons?
Hakeem: Yeah, you and George got the same haircut.

Have they changed the emergency feed music? I have seen a few videos where the emergency feed has kicked in, and instead of Trammell, it plays other music.
Example video... begins playing Moby "Living," then flips to Ryan Farish "Anthem of Hope" and then to Bobby Arnold "Daydreamer"

If they did, then they would have played the full song, right?

If those three songs are on the current playlist, then probably not. Trammell only plays when the current playlist fails. So this was probably just an error with the local forecast, not the playlist.

I don't think the younger audience is to blame, its the older audience looking for a new national geographic/discovery channel who we should really be mad at.
Are you serious? I can't think of a single "older" person that still likes TWC.

"More appropriate playlist" and "afternoon and morning dayparts continuing to adapt" makes no sense whatsoever.
That's marketing talk for "smooth jazz isn't part of the image we're going for."

No, Trammell also plays at any given moment TWC has technical difficulties that cannot be fixed to the minute it happens.

I don't think so, but it appears to be the one of the emergency feed songs.

I decided to whip up this list of the new emergency feed songs here and it probably will expand later as more errors happen.

I could barely see where that link was located in your sentence, but thanks for the list.

IMO, this is just ridiculous.  I really don't think they needed to replace Trammell as the emergency feed, but what do I know? :itsok:
