I chose #2, but only for long form purposes

I'm voting for the fourth option at all times.  I prefer smaller LDL displays.  The squeezeback areas take up a huge part of the screen but show no useful information other than "Local on the 8s."  At that point, why bother showing the live segment or the longform programming?  You might as well show a full-screen LF at that point.  Overall, larger displays give the viewer a hint that TWC is confused internally as to what is important to show.  Either go with a simple LDL like ESPN does with their Bottom Line all the time, or do full-screen LFs.  Attempting to show both doesn't work.

I noticed lately there is alot of missing space between the graphics and the LDL, the 33% could fit.

The problem with the setup above is that on the SD feed it would be fine for the 33% LDL in those situations, but not on the HD feed. On the HD feed, it's not letterboxed so any data on the bottom would get cut off, unlike on the SD feed which is letterboxed

I think it happened 1 time on the HD feed as well, i'll see if i record the 1am WCL the next couple nights to see if it happens again.

Recently, TWC stopped using letterbox for the 1AM WCL on the SD feed, so they reverted back to full screen, full time.

I guess that defeats the purpose of recording the 1am WCL, the reason the LDL would be a great addition is the Morning and Evening formats TWC uses with WUWA, Morning Rush and WCL since they only do

Honestly during long form I would prefer option 4 (the small LDL) for a LOT8s forecast only.  So in other words, what they have now is nice.  The ONLY thing I don't like is that those with the national feed only see a US city-by-city forecast, and the LDL only gets through a few cities at a time, so you may have to wait a while to see the forecast for your city show up.  But that would probably be a problem with all options.

I agree with Patrick that options 1 and 2 are very distracting to the long form show and have too much going on at the same time.  Plus, there is a lot of wasted space.

Though probably in the minority with this statement, I also am glad they don't show the LDL all the time during long form anymore.  To me and likely to an average viewer, I find it distracting to the show and find myself wanting to look at the LDL instead of the show.  So their move in removing it was a good idea IMO.

Somehow I find that hard to believe.....for anybody. You mean to tell me there are people out there who would get a kick out of watching people go iceberg fishing and dive for reefs over a forecast?
