Title: Intellistar XD Question - Different SD and HD outputs?
Post by: bill98 on April 27, 2021, 10:43:58 PM
I'm in Smyrna, GA and Spectrum (Legacy Charter) is my cable provider.  The SD Channel for TWC is local to Smyrna with an Intellistar 2 Jr.  The HD Channel uses Duluth, GA as primary with Smyrna listed in the LDL using an Intellistar XD.  The Intellisar 2 Jr for Smyrna has been going off the air often. Today, it disappared for several hours. I happened to catch when they tried to get an alternate feed online and it cycled through Cedartown, GA, then Porterville, CA (very random), Newnan, GA and finally Duluth, GA.  What surprised me is the standard definition feed for Duluth appears different than what we see for the high definition feed. The LDL isn't in synch between the two and the SD feed is Spectrum branded with the custom background with Spectrum logos during lcoal forecasts, but the HD version shows the standard Weather Channel background.  Can there actually be slightly different feeds between HD and SD or are there two different units being used?  I find it odd there would be two different Intellistar XDs for the same location for the same cable company.  Curious if they will end up repairing/replacing our local Intellistar for Smyrna.

Figured out it's definitely two different intellistars. The new Intellistar XD is on the SD channel and the original XD (or I2 HD if those are even still around?) is on the HD channel. Odd they would have two HD intellistars for the same city.
