As of March 12, 2009; all IntelliStars no longer have the 36/48 hour forecast sound effects. I was asking the STAR team on TWCC if that was reported an error, and they've told me that they've been disabled throughout all domestic ISs. Don't know for how long though.

That's odd, hopefully it isn't permanent. I liked the sound effects.

Hmm, I didn't know anyone did. I don't (no offense, just my opinion :smoke2: )
I didn't know this, but my intellistar still has all the normal narration and has the sound effects.

They're gone for good.

REALLY? That's awesome! :thrilled:

Thank god for that, that was horrendous.

Hmm, I wasn't expecting this, I just checked mine and it's definitely gone.

Why? I thought they were unnecessary, but I kind of liked them. Except for Windy. That sound effect is obnoxious, haha.

Apparently the average viewer didn't.
-
....they did?

I liked the sound effects especially the "Thunder" and "Windy" ones, but it was too distracting with the effects, narration, and music all at once.
-
It's completely fine with me. I didn't like them from the start.

Oh, me neither! I am in fact stoked to hear that they were done away with.
I won't know for sure, since my forecast is sunny/clear for the next 48 hours.

Yes, one down and one to go (Narration!)

Good luck...

LOL, yeah I don't see the narration going anywhere. :D

I'm glad they're gone. :) I've never like the windy/snowy sound effects.

Well, the sound effects on the text forecast being disabled are confirmed on my end. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for tomorrow, and I did not hear anything but the narration and the music!
