In the past few months, I have noticed that the 4 x 4 lastest observations are back on the IntelliStar. Could someone tell me which times, this flavor is on and what time each day (Sunday through Saturday)?
-
Brian, I'd hate to tell you this, but TWC doesn't have very specific flavors now like they used to back in the 1990s. It's the same flavor at :08/:38, :18/:48, and :28/:58 every hour, every day. If you want to know when to see them, check out the :28/:58 LFs during live programming, and you can only see them if your STAR does not have marine forecast/tides products on them.
-
Yeah, I've only seen it during :28/:58 of the hour and even then it seems kinda random. I'm assuming it's shown more frequently at those times when there is not a large scale event taking place like severe weather or wintry weather so there's less priority for forecast products like the radar or the weather bulletin to consume time. I'm just spitballin' this so don't take what I said for certain. I thought there was one time I saw it show up recently on a K flavor, but I can't say for sure.

Mine doesn't even show that anymore, they swapped it with the Metro Conditions map on my Star.

It's because you have marine products. 8-cities have a low priority level.

Then I guess I would not see it down at my grandparents in Florida since that's on theirs. :( I see it every now and then at :28 like you have said. I was excited to see it again and I thought they had brought it back nationwide. Guess not. If you're on the coast, you still don't have it.

I don't mind not seeing it in a Marine Area like mine because most of the cities on that segment are on the metro map anyway.

I live in Daytona Beach, and I do occasionally see it on the Intellistar. It depends on what kind of weather there is. If there's no metro radar (meaning no precipitation in the area) and the satellite/radar screen isn't shown, then the "latest observations" screens do sometimes appear.

The only way I can imagine marine STARs seeing the LO screen now is if there's a radar outage, but even then other products might show, such as the regional CC.
