From the looks of your video, the audio and video during ICHT weren't in sync, so for whatever reason they played a piece of production music from the VideoHelper Library (it's been used before on EE and WC) during the LF.
Ah, okay. I had heard this at school and thought it was another one of those LF music act-ups.

Does anyone know what screens were shown during the 1 minute flavor on the XL v1?

There was another version used roughly from 2002-03 that involved the Daypart and Regional/Metro maps. They were replaced by the 24-hour forecast in 2003.

I know this is one VERY minuscule little thing, but I think the word "Weather" was changed when it displays as "Local Weather ID" during the LF in the LDL. Instead of being displayed as "Local Weather ID" it was changed to say "Local weather ID", so the w was lowercased. I do not know this for sure, but it looks that way to me.

Also, did the Falsepoint precip counter have to manually reset this morning? When I woke up, it actually said "May Precip: 7.6", and it now says "May Precip 0.0"

uhhhh, that's been like that with the Local weather ID ever since it's been getting displayed on the LDL. :dunno:

And why do you call it "FalsePoint"? I see nothing wrong with it nor HiRAD.

You and I have A LOT of disagreements then. They both produce illegitament observations that are
1) Not accurate
2) Not proven (where the location is)
3) And nothing beats the real thing

I call it Falsepoint because the results are not accurate. They are simply computer guesses. The results for April rainfall are in:
Lansing Capital City Arpt: 6.49"
Downtown Lansing guess (5 miles from Airport): 7.6"
See anything wrong?

And I was being nitpicky about the W being changed to lower case.

Since I'm not a local IS viewer, please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think there has ever been a capital "W" in "Local weather ID".

This morning I thought there was, but then again, I also thought a lot of the text on the IS was also enlarged, so false alarm

Shame TWC doesn't team up with colleges, schools, and private business like weatherbug does for example. It would provide a lot more reporting locations. Granted they may not be reliable but the IS could easily switch to a backup when one of these were down.

I've seen some of the WeatherBug stations, and many of them are dreadful in terms of accuracy and reliability.  If they were to be shown on the LF, I'd have someone pick out a handful for each region to check out their quality and deem them worthy of being reported.
