Figured it's worth mentioning, yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the debut of the "v2 IntelliStar." Time sure does fly...
This is the first video of the v2 iStar, from when mine was a beta.  October 9, 2007.  Includes the last v1, Evening Edition (After Dark), and the first v2.

Interesting to point, I was able to acquire your Star IS.. It's nice to see videos from when this system was in full operation! Yes, I have a payphone too!
How did you get that original IntelliSTAR? That's so cool that you have one! Was this from eBay? Or was it from a random computer electronics recycler? I would even like to see if it's even possible to reverse engineer the IS (even though TWC stopped supporting it back in 2015). Either way, nice find!
Classic TWC, Weatherscan, legacy WeatherSTARs, and classic Prevue/TV Guide fan.

It was on eBay about six months ago or so.  So glad it's made it to a good home!  My YouTube channel has several videos of both the v2 and v3.  This unit also has the current version on it as well.

Fun fact: this unit was installed after DST Spring 2006 - the first that Indiana observed.  The XL it replaced couldn't do the new DST change apparently.

Saw this change this morning. #DirecTv
Wow, they failed big time with those icons...what's w/ the Tornado one? And they actually bothered to have an almanac built in to the 36 hour? I think the DTV LF's have more info than the IS's now! :o

I heard what sounded like an acoustic guitar instrumental on the 12:18AM ET LF. Don't know the name or artist, but I can confirm that it was NOT a track from either of the Smooth Jazz CDs. Maybe TWC is airing new songs?

UPDATE: another new track at 1:18AM ET. This one is "Times Of Your Life" by Jeffrey Garber (ID'd via YouTube's content ID system):

I have also observed new tracks on the :18 LF I have not heard before.  Maybe they have finally turned the corner with LF music.  Now it really hurts that LF's only air twice an hour!

It sounds like they're playing the same playlist today. And they are coming from a production music company called Extreme Music.
Hi, this is TWCSteven.

I reside in Pembroke Pines, FL. Currently have XFINITY. I love watching TV. I watch TWC in HD all the time.

The full-screen LF has officially been removed. With this change, I am officially done with TWC. It was already bad enough that they were reduced to two per hour, but I am not watching anymore and will not support this network.

It was a pleasure to meet all of you. Even 10 years ago, TWC still had a lot of good about it, smooth jazz, etc. Everything I loved about it is gone. I know most of you feel the same way. Martin would be ashamed of what happened to this network.

Wish all of you the best. I may come back if they decide to reverse these horrible changes. Otherwise, I am getting my weather elsewhere.

I wouldn’t say just yet that the LFs are gone. We don’t know. TWC had a major attack on their network and they might still be working on fixing what they can. Last I checked, radar wasn’t being sent to the Stars so that might be what they’re working on.

Can you cite your source on this official decision?

I agree.

They were just hit with a ransomware attack last week, and that does take time to recover from, even if you have extensive backups of your systems.
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

I would wait a few more days if not longer before everything is back up and running. It's likely that TWC is working diligently to try and restore the locals ASAP following last week's cyberattack   but as Zach said, it will take a while for software to recover from such attacks.

Local on the 8s returned at 10:48 AM Central. Just saw an LF, no radar but nonetheless it’s back. Interesting to note that it seems the Emergency Feed is running instead of the National LF.
