Not to completely discredit these rumors, but I think too much is being read into the whole new graphics stuff. I could be wrong, but it seems like they're emphasizing on uniformity all across the board this time around, something they have been lacking on doing since the big relaunch back in 2005. Any significant graphic changes will probably be minor and probably will be focused on correcting things that viewers may have had complaints about since November last year imo.
Although if corrections on legibility is accurate, it's seriously about freaking time. This issue shouldn't have taken nearly a year to fix. They need to either a: be more careful about the backgrounds they're using on the LFs or b: they need to make the template all dark for the weekend section of The Week Ahead so the white text is readable from a far distance from your TV. I cannot tell you how many times in the past I have had to get up within two of my HDTV to read what the temperature forecast was for Saturday/Sunday because of those stupid bright BGs clashing with the white text.
As far as music, I stopped caring a long time ago. They can do whatever they want with that as far as I'm concerned.
