Oh good, I'm glad Rushing is back. It's not like we hear it every couple of weeks when the emergency feed is cued. :P

But seriously, I'd take this over vocals.

Hi all! I just got word that "February (Mid Winter Nigh Mix) will be playing soon. Sounds like Brian is getting more time to spend on Local Forecast music. Glad to see he still considers me. Thanks for the support!

It just played at 1:58am.

Of course...on the Overnight playlist. I wish it would play during the daytime.

When I visit weather.com and typed in states in NY Metropolitan areas, such as New York City and Staten Island, the weather icon shows the sun icon instead of the moon icon during the nighttime hours, which was reported as an error.
I'm a weatherman. I love my weather. I would love to go any trips if the weather is nicer.

The squeezeback local during a 2:00AM ET long-form show doesn't seem to be showing the current conditions at all anymore (just says "Data Not Available") since I first noticed this error about a week or two ago. Not sure if it's my STAR that's doing this or if it's all of the STARs nationwide  :dunno:

Charter cable in the town of Grand Coulee, Washington no longer shows any LOT8s whatsover   The headend used to show the WeatherSTAR 4000 up in Omak but as of now it only shows satellite LFs and LDL. I don't believe this is a LOT8s outage, though, as Grand Coulee and Omak are two separate headends (TWC is on channel 12 in Grand Coulee while up in Omak it's on channel 14). I'm guessing that the Omak TWC feed must have been simulcasted in Grand Coulee until 2008, when the GC headend discontinued its digital tier package and the TWC feed must have became it's own separate feed in GC.

Because of this discovery today at my grandmother's house in Grand Coulee, I don't know what the fate is of Omak's WeatherSTAR 4000 unit  :dunno:  but I guess it was worth finding out for myself.

Here is my last recorded video clip of Omak's 4000 unit from six and a half years ago.

Maybe TWC is planning on ending support of the WeatherSTAR 4000? It's possible that the workers at that Charter headend might be aware of the end of TWC's analog satellite signal. The one in Litchfield, IL is still being used as of late.
WeatherStar 4000 8/23/2013 Brown vertical scroll error

It's possible that they couldn't even afford an InteliStar or even an InteliStar 2. It would be nice if TWC were to offer most of their cable affiliates a free upgrade if they still have an older legacy model. The 4000 is already 23 years old.

Heh, I guess I lied. I actually do remember seeing that video before, but it's been so long I guess I forgot.  :P

Here's another question for anyone who can answer I have about the XLv2 (2001-2004)

On the text forecast (36 hr. forecast), what was the max amount of lines shown per daypart screen before the remainder carries over to another screen? Is it 6 or 7? I'm guessing 6, but I could be wrong. :dunno:

Pretty sure it's 6. 7 lines would be overlapping part of the LDL

IntelliSTAR #26203, Pullman, WA. The headend is Time Warner Cable.

TWC IntelliSTAR- Pullman, WA- Sep. 23, 2013- 7:28AM PDT

I once saw a WeatherSTAR XL on this headend about 8 years ago   back when the headend was still Adelphia. The XL was replaced with the IS when Time Warner acquired Adelphia in late 2005.

Before when TimeWarner Cable took over with the IntelliStar, by any chance did this XL have the version 3 graphics update? Or did they replace the XL shortly before the logo change on August 15 of that year?
