Is your IntelliStar offline? I notice the national LDL is on in that picture. Also, if you can, try to get a tuner capture of that if you intend to report the issue, but that's just if you can.
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

I know it won't change how the Music airs on TWC but here's my attempt  :)

I wish i could, the reason i'm trying to have this fixed is because something like this could cause a seizure.

Actually, I looked at your pictures and they do seem high enough in quality.. also, now that you mentioned seizures, is your IS doing this?

Severely messed up IntelliStar - Feb. 13, 2009 - 8:58pm

So yeah Alex, do post a topic in tech support

its not as bad as that Zach but it's more like a picture problem which makes the TV picture pixelate every half a second almost like a strobing light effect. (The error is occurring in all of the IntelliStar's Coverage area including Fall River and New Bedford.)

The issue is still ongoing - I discussed this with Local Forecast Star Support yesterday and they said after everything was fine on their end.

So now i have to email Comcast Boston and notify them of the situation because one of my friends is prone to seizure and i don't want them to get one just watching TWC.

Here's the video of the problem

Well I'm not surprised, guess we can say the K flavors are history too :P This will no doubt mark the death of the Local on the 8s, slowly but surely.

Not only the K Flavors, but also the long-lived 2-minute flavors.

So wait a minute: TWC is only showing 60-second LFs now?

Whatever happened to the days when the "LOT8s was the number 1 reason why people tune in to The Weather Channel?"  Jim Cantore said that quote in a video; I think it was the one talking about the IS transition to HD.  Guess that's all gone out the window. :(

I guess we can breathe a sigh of relief, because the 90-second flavor aired at :28 during DP. I've got a feeling that will probably change in the coming weeks and/or months.

Also, I always wondered myself what happened to those days. Nowadays I bet TWC only cares about money and ratings, and that they no longer give a hoot about their viewers wanting their Local on the 8's  :(

If they ever go through with making LF's 60 seconds exclusively, then I will declare a shark jump.   :club:  Arguably, this has already happened between the addiction to long-form, the questionable removal of some OCM's, and the new LF music format, but I feel that 60-second LOT8's only will represent a true shark jump more than anything we've seen so far.  In a 60-second format, some segments have to be left out, or else each segment must go by faster.  Both of these outcomes lead to a less complete LF.

I'm noticing for the 6pm hour of WCL they are using the format of Wake Up With Al and AM Rush where they go from programming to the local forecast then the commercial break. Is this going to be the standard for format for all live programming?

The last LOT8s at 6:58pm was only 60 seconds.

At 7pm they are back to airing 2min of commercials before the LOT8s.

So basically the Express Locals are here to stay from "Morning Rush" to "Evening Rush"
