Hopefully they do return in full but let's wait and see since Severe Weather is Forecasted tomorrow, which means Extended Coverage would continue.

Yeah, but they also brought back 2 min lFs last month during the Christmas storm tornado outbreak even though it was just for the 2pm hour

Maybe I'm just too old-fashioned, but a "full" local forecast for me is three minutes.

Now let's not get greedy.  :P

Two minutes would be good enough for me to watch it more often, and also respect TWC for a change instead of criticizing the network. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they do return.

If only those five or six minute overnight LFs would return.   I've always liked the idea of a long overnight LF like how it was between 1987-91.

I wouldn't mind a 5 or 6-minute local forecast... if there were more products available.  Back then, they just ran the same flavor twice.  Trust me, seeing the "Travel Cities Forecast" play twice in just a few minutes gets a little mind-numbing.  :)

I saw a 2-minute LF at 10:28 pm ET last night.  It was the first time I had ever seen the daypart forecast on satellite.  I just hope it wasn't only because of the severe weather outbreak going on yesterday.

Hopefully they added the 2 minute locals to the Weekend Schedule.

They dont air the daypart forecast on the satellite lf unless u mean the DirecTV LF but even then the daypart forecast airs on 90sec flavors

With the 24 + hour live storm coverage and the storms being severe it might be time to switch to instrumental music.
Just my opinion, the pop and rock songs just don't fit with the coverage.

With all this severe weather going on would it seem the extended coverage might continue until Saturday?

and i wish they would put the Emergency Playlist on instead of the same bland vocals since December.

Same here.

IMO TWC should have just switched to all instrumentals during the coverage of the severe weather, like they did with Isaac and Sandy. Vocal music, to me, is just not appropriate during coverage of potentially life-threatening weather events such as the hurricanes or the recent severe weather outbreak.

Are the 2-minute LFs only on certain dayparts right now? Yesterday, I saw that the LF at 5:28 PM CT was only :90.

I never cared much for the vocals anyhow. Aesthetically, it feels like scratching a chalk board when the LF speaker is talking over another voice. And whenever it's been mainstream music, something that I had already heard a million times overplayed on the radio, I just wanted to tear my hair out.
