TWC: This was [suspension of vocals], indeed, due to Isaac coverage. Vocals will be back soon – most likely tomorrow.

I knew I had a feeling they would bring back the vocal music now that coverage of Isaac has finished  :hmm:

The vocals do not belong on TWC as local forecast on the 8s music. Only instramental music should be featured on there.

At least they understand that vocal music is very unprofessional and very inappropriate to play during major severe weather situations. If only they knew it's not right to play vocal music anytime...just doesn't fit well on the lf.

I'm not surprised they'll return, but I am surprised they didn't come back sooner. I still find it weird that they find their own music unprofessional at times...I just don't like how they find tacky songs that have weather in the song. Too cute for me.

I'm surprised some of you even thought vocal music was over here.  The majority of most people prefer vocal music over instrumental music.  I hear it everywhere from others, which is why I keep most of my musical interests to myself.  TWC wants to look serious when everyone cares about their on-air programming during significant weather, but the general public really could care less when there's no weather.  Thus, entertainment is the only option left to keep viewership and ratings.

I never thought it was over, but I did find it odd that the lack of the vocals continued for this long. I do applaud TWC for being professional about the music in times of dangerous weather though. The change of music was merely just an observation from me.

I actually didn't know most people preferred vocal over instrumental. TWC's choice in music does make sense.

But if you really think about it wouldn't the average viewer find vocal music mixed with Narration rather annoying anyway?

I wonder if most people tune out the narration these days unless hearing Jim Cantore on the IS2 changes that issue.  While you have a point, it doesn't seem to be a big enough issue for TWC to bother with it.

People that may be illiterate or blind may need to hear the narrations on the local forecast, but with vocal music, it can be rather disrupting.

I dont really think the vocals are a distraction from the narration.. both the IntelliStar and the IS2 duck down the national TWC audio when narration is playing.

At first, I completely hated the vocal music when they started playing it a few months ago, but then I kinda got used to it and then just accepted it  :itsok:  I imagine TWC added the vocal music just for ratings and money, and if that's what they're doing, then we the viewers will just have to probably accept it, right?

That's pretty much the answer, but you can look forward to another big weather event that will cause them to change the music now that you know what they did for Isaac coverage.
