The Sat LF looks terrible now. I really liked the borders and the 5 day forecast, but now the transitions look rather dull... :hmm:

It's not what I'd call ideal.  I'd actually like to see a return to the 1990s style satellite forecasts, when a list of cities with a 3-day forecast was included along with maps for temperatures, current conditions, satellite and radar, etc.

It seems like the satellite forecasts now have gotten much too busy for the limited amount of information they contain.  And, considering forecasts these days last no longer than 2 minutes, all of those fancy transitions just eat up time that could be used for showing actual weather information.

Granted... it's still better than the never-ending "Travel Cities Forecast" scroll.  Believe me, it was downright boring when you had to stare at a grey screen with lines and lines of text scrolling across the screen for up to three minutes at a stretch!  :)

I know right! And I thought people wanted things to be more simple, which was why they made the transitions on the Intellistar more basic back in 2007.

Why is the SD National LF only showing 3 Day forecasts now?

They're still making changes to it.

Who knows. If they're still making changes, they really need to add precipitation and thunderstorm maps. :club:

I think it's to make it different from the HD version and more like the 2008 SD version was, I actually like it better that way. It doesn't make sense to have the SD and HD Satellite LF look so much the same if you ask me.

Is that Time Warner for Van Nuys? If so, I found the very same XL a few months ago.

it would be nice if the 8 city obs page could be seen during the :08 and :38 flavors instead of having to wait to see the conditions on the LDL after those LFs, i bring this up because the flavor goes from CC page and jumps to Regional Radar.

Is the Heat Safety Tips screen still in the IntelliStar's playlist? I haven't seen it at all since 2006 before the K flavors returned at :18/:48, and it's well above the 103° heat index that prompted the screen to show here.

I noticed an interesting outage on Jun 22nd.
On my system we don't have an IS2 and just get the national forecast on the 8's.
There was a problem with the system that generates the HD national forecast and displays the LDL.
When going to the national forecast and we get music and a black screen.
Shortly after we get switched to an SD video feed with weather forecasts and maps.
Am I correct that this is the system that is used if The Weather Channel goes off the air?

That's the ESF. 100% normal.

Apparently you missed my post. I just saw it yesterday, but it was only on 1 LF and it was never seen again.
