It was a DirecTV HD reciever and always has been one.

It looks more clear, but it's also a little more jaggity.
The jagged seems to happen with my Pinnacle when I record with it for some reason. :hmm:
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

The second one is clearer, but there is no visible difference in the text

In the first screenshot, all the text is shifted up a few pixels. It's noticeable in the "For ZIP 33592" line.

This seems to be a national issue from what I have been told, and has been ongoing for some time now. It always happens to my unit.

Here are the two clips of the New Braunfels, TX IntelliSTAR (ID#24716). Sorry that both clips are one minute favors. Both were taken at a hotel in Seguin.

Back in the daze of legit CC reports, did the icon set change based on what the station reports? Or did they change as the location reaches sunrise or sunset times? I notice London on my regional map is still reporting clear skies with a moon, when every other city beside Chicago and Milwaukee are guessing sunny skies. Are they supposed to change based on when each location reaches sunrise/sunset?

My area would be sporadic when it came to the sunrise and sunset on the CC, CC regional and metro. so it might be the second theory.

Automated stations will report "clear" whether it's day or night.  So, I'm pretty sure that the sunrise and sunset times are used to distinguish between "sunny" for daytime and "clear" for nighttime.

Actually, the day/night icons are based on civil twilight.

That's interesting.  I find it a little odd that a sunny icon would be showing while you can't see the sun as it either hasn't risen yet or has already set, but it doesn't make that much of a difference overall.

Yeah, that's what the STAR team said awhile back, as well as Bill when he was developing the 4000 emulator.

Civil Twilight?

I also had another question. When I was in Romulus, I did manage to see the metro map (both guesses and forecast). I noticed Essex, Ontario was on the forecast metro map, but not on the CC metro map. I notice that there are no Mexican cities on Felix's Intellistar either. Is the metro map not capable of showing legit reports from international cities even if they are right there?
