I just realized something odd on my intellistar's LDL. As of this morning, it's showing the current conditions for Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Soquel (which has never shown up on the LF before). I wasn't aware that the LDL could show conditions for 3 cities like that..

That is not uncommon at all. In fact, both the Lansing and E.L. units do it. Grand Ledge and Eaton Rapids are on the Lansing STAR as well, and Haslett along with Dwntwn Lansing was added to the E.L. Intellistar unit. I also saw this in Grand Rapids. This is done when STARs serve multiple areas.

Hmm, mine's like this too! I now have current conditions for Bordentown and Moorestown in addition to Mount Holly. Has this become a nationwide feature?

This feature isn't new, it was implemented when the new LDL came out. All the STARs around here have had it since that point:

22420: Downtown Pittsburgh, Beaver Falls, Washington
22434: New Kensington, Oakmont, Gibsonia
22438: Penn Hills, McKeesport
27542: Downtown Pittsburgh, Bethel Park, Penn Hills

The FiOS Star in Philadelphia has always had this feature, but now the Comcast STARs seem to be like this too. I'll see what cities 21884 has (I'd imagine Bensalem and Bristol are the other two).

I can imagine that when I see the Richmond IntelliSTAR tomorrow night, it will be Richmond, Petersburg, and Colonial Heights.

Mine has been like that since the Blue LDL beta came out in late May last year, I have Dunwoody and College Park,The first day we got the blue LDL, the wrong HiRAD location was on there, it said Piedmont Park instead of Downtown Atlanta.

but it's only for certain stars, i don't like when features like that aren't available to all stars.

It's not for certain STARs. It's just to add it to all STARs would require them to go through each and every one. I think they're adding this to most STARs when they do their periodic review of each individual STAR.

I find it impossible how the STAR team could add additional cities on the LDL to all of the IntelliStars in one day...

Technically, they could. It would be a half-assed job, but they could, They never would do it that way though.

I hate to start an argument but anyone care to call this HiRAD normal-cy?
Spot the fail!

I know these two images were not taken at the exact same time, but HiRAD does not update in the time between these two images.

Actually, I believe HiRAD updates at :18, :38, and :58 past, so it could have still not updated yet. ;)

Zach, I was making the point that HiRAD did not update in between the two images, so there is an accurate and legit comparison.

The IntelliStar doesn't always get all of the data updated in time for the next forecast. Don't think that's a bug or anything, that's just how it is.
