Dish Network DishHOME Weather 12/24/2011 1:28PM PST

For those of you who have Dish Network and haven't checked out the DishHOME weather app in a while, here it is, with updated graphics.

It seems that they are now using the 2006-2011 IS icons much like DirecTV's weather apps  :hmm:

Oh, I'm not a fan of that app at all!

But no new TWC lot8's holiday opener could beat the ones like this:

TWC Local Forecast Christmas 2004

Ahh, how I miss the "Live By It" openers. Good memories.

This App would be okay if it wasn't so slow to load and the radar was focused in on your area more... I've only used this on a handful of occasions before I had my weather station to check the temps while in bed.

Not sure if anyone knows this, but several of Steve Glotzer's tunes that were used on TWC in the past are available on iTunes under the artist listing PM Steve Glotzer! :thrilled:

Is Linus & Lucy still ok to upload? I don't care if they tag the video with an ID, but is it still ok to put up w/o being muted? I don't want to waste my time putting it up if it will be because it's going to be together in a compilation of other LFs.

I believe it has been unmuted and/or unb& for everybody.

The LDL Squeeze Back has returned.
At 11:38am & 11:48 ET as you try to watch the local forecast a promo for Coast Guard Alaska is playing.
When the promo ends so does the local forecast and we go back to programming full screen.
I don't like it and I hope people complain and they give up on the LDL Squeeze Back except for storm coverage.
At least they are not doing it during actual programming.
This is from the cable HD feed with no IS2 on FiOS. The SD feed has the same format.

Oh nooo!!! The L-bar has returned!!!

Here's what the L-bar looks like with the IS, slightly modified from the 2011 version.

I sure hope this won't be a permanent thing

The video window on the SD feed still shows the 4:3 letterboxed video incorrectly.

It really doesn't matter to me at this point, as long as rock music continues to be used.  :P

Hakeem: What's up, Jetsons!
Frank Mitchell: Jetsons?
Hakeem: Yeah, you and George got the same haircut.

It's returned... with an ad scroll!!!  Good heavens... I think that means they're so serious about using it again that they're willing to put the ad scroll on it.

I'm curious as to why putting something that minor as an ad crawl in had to take several months, the other changes they made are so minor they aren't worth pointing out.
