Yesterday (2010-05-20 14:38-0500), I saw IntelliStar 22689 displaying "Temporarily unavailable." under "Today" in the Local Forecast product. Unfortunately, I was in a public place when I saw it, and I could not tell if it used the "Our local forecast" narration because that television's volume was either muted or very low.

I can confirm that narration was used, you should hear it in my playlist posted above.

For some reason, the special weather statement crawling on TWC and on Weatherscan right now is only labeled as "Weather Statement" instead of "Special Weather Statement." Wonder why? I checked and the NWS still refers to it as a Special Weather Statement.

I didn't think that this needed it's own topic, so:

Does anyone know if the National IntelliSTAR Crawl will be activated like last year? (I think it was 2009, but it may have been 2008.) Ya know, like saying how any tropical developent will scroll on this crawl? If it will, when will it? I think that it was a few days before the OFFICIAL start of Hurricane Season.

I don't remember the national crawl being activated last year. If it did, I'd have a video of it. They usually do that if a major hurricane or tropical system was going to come to a certain part of the country like Hannah or Gustav

Hanna was only a TS, Gustav didn't have one IIRC, and Ike had one. The one for Hanna said "TWC Update" and the one for Ike said "TWC Update" outside of Storm Alert, but while in Storm Alert, it said "Ike Update". I have a video:
