The Christmas list has already started? It is at least a week earlier than I had expected.

Didn't I hear sometime ago that it was gonna start this coming Monday? Or maybe we both misread someone's post? Who knows.. but the regular December 2010 playlist looks short-lived imo.

Anyways, glad to hear the playlist is playing finally.

Honestly, that song needed a break. 19 years was long enough.

The playlist looks bland. Not enough goodies (and not enough Ryan Farish "Spirit" songs either, I was hoping at least 2).

I noticed though that there wasnt a morning daypart given..  many of our "favorites" from last year and all other years were playing on that daypart last year... :hammer:

Well TWC has their own way of making playlists, seems the 3 daypart system is back i won't be surprised if the Feb/Mar '11 list doesn't have a morning daypart either.

nope no morning daypart, which had the better songs. It's just the same old but don't be let down, i bet they will play the morning songs tomorrow. (the list seemed rushed)

This is why some of you guys (not you Zach) shouldn't be pelting TWC with emails to start the list early...they started early and now we get a half-assed list.

No Joy to This Timeless World either.

They also should have 15 songs on daytime if it's gonna last from 6am-5pm. And guys I'm with Vic. If we stop persuading Brian and TWC execs for a new list we'd be having better playlists. Otherwise they get rushed and overwhelmed and they end up just randomly picking songs without digging deeper for new tracks.

I don't understand what the complaints are all about, I don't consider this a bad playlist at all. I don't like that there are duplicates *coughs* "Linus & Lucy", there could be other songs there. Speaking of Linus and Lucy, why is it that the very first song I hear when the Christmas list starts is Linus and Lucy? That was the very first song I ever heard on TWC. I think it's good they bothered to do one period, it could be like it was in '97 or '98 where there was no Christmas list at all.

Honestly, that song needed a break. 19 years was long enough.

I don't agree with that, it's a tradition just like "Linus and Lucy" is with the exception of two years it didn't play

I wonder if WUWA will have its own (vocal) Christmas playlist or just have the regular songs.

The playlist is OK. I was saying TWC didn't put much thought into it because not all the songs that we would like are on there, and it doesn't have a morning section. Sorry, Martin and Zach.

Seriously? You think TWC actually listens to any of you in regards to starting these playlist? I think you are lucky if they even look at an artist someone recommends. I can't believe you think the playlist would be magically better if it started a week later. How can you tell by looking at a list of songs that it was rushed.  The Weather Channel could care less what a niche group of music fanatics think about their playlists.

I think this is the earliest yet for an Xmas music start.

Back in the early to mid 90s Xmas selections would start about the same time. I can confirm from footage in 1994 it was at least Dec 12th and in 1995 on Dec 10th.

So what? What does that have to do with anything? :dunno: Maybe they just didn't want to have a morning playlist or didn't want to use over 40 songs so they decided to revert back to the way it was. That doesn't mean no effort was made into putting the list together. I really think you're grasping for straws on this one.

Guys, could we please stop all the arguing?  That's not what Christmas and the music is supposed to represent.  Some of you are taking this music battle way too seriously.  Music is supposed to be enjoyed, and no one can please everyone.  Even if TWC heard all your requests, they have the final say on how it's made, period.  You guys aren't the only ones listening to this playlist and making requests to TWC.  You all should be thankful that we even have a holiday playlist as others here mentioned it was entirely skipped for a couple years in the past.

The playlist is not the same without that one. :( The only years that previously that it wasn't on the playlist was from 1995, through 1998. You must be refering to "I Saw Three Ships" by David Arkenstone. Are we all sure that the this list is complete and that all songs on the playlist are listed?

I have no complaints about the Christmas playlist. It is fine as it is. However, a song I would like to hear again is December Snow by Dover, which hasn't been played since 1998, I think.

See, some of you all just need to be more patient.  After all that fussing, we find out that there is a morning playlist, and your favorite songs are still there.  Seriously, stop and think about life and the world in general when the holidays arrive.  Some people can't even celebrate Christmas happily as they're far less fortunate than us.  Heck, I won't even be able to see my family and have Christmas on the proper day this year as I have to work through the holidays!  Maybe some of you all need to experience that to realize how much we take for granted these days.  Christmas music has a role in reminding us what really matters in life.

Sorry that I have to go into a full-scale rant, but what I witnessed over the past 24 hours in this thread has really upset me.  This playlist, just like the holiday of Christmas itself and any present that you will receive, is a gift, not a privilege!  Be thankful for it, and enjoy it!  Now, if I catch anyone still complaining and whining to where it disrupts everyone else from this point forward, I will personally issue warnings.  Everyone has the right to an opinion, but no one has the right to disrupt or ruin the joys of others.

You can still put it up once you know that all the information is accurate.  I just want people to react better regardless of what is posted.  After all, several people like Chuck still want to see it.

I don't feel comfortable posting the playlist here, I'd rather email anyone interested for it. plus TWC didn't reply back to my email with the updated playlist.

Molly let me know if you want this taken down.. although its the one you deleted i thought Id share it for those uncomfortable with email addresses being given out http://zach.dyndns-ip.com:53205/twc/xmas.txt (http://zach.dyndns-ip.com:53205/twc/xmas.txt)

I remember Snowflake playing vividly several times early Christmas Eve. I wish I could get my hands on the full version of it somewhere.

"Snowflake" and other Ed Reasoner tunes used to be available on nashangelesmusic but they don't seem to be there now. Good thing I got them when I did a few years ago. "Seasons Change" was a Christmas holiday tune used in 2003 and is one of my favorites. It has a bright & uplifting quality, reminiscent of the season itself. Wouldn't mind hearing that one again.

Pardon my 'walking in the door on a Friday feeling tired' ignorance but are Holiday Dance and Carol of the Bells by David Foster in the list?
Yes.

Those of you who think "I Saw Three Ships" by David Arkenstone is not playing this year should be ready for a sigh of relief now. It was just played at 10:28 am EST during WUWA.
The world has not ended!
It would have if that song had not been on the playlist this year.

Eddie's music can only be purchased from him directly, IIRC.

They didn't do that last year, didn't they?

I don't think any TWC Xmas list had nearly 60 songs. In fact, a few may have had only 10 or 15, if that, especially quite a few years ago.
