Saw a lot of talk about the playlist in the December thread so I figured starting a topic about the playlist (now that it started) was appropriate. I hope Linus and Lucy and I saw three ships are on it!
-
4:48am ET Trans-Siberian Orchestra "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24"
4:58am ET Vince Guaraldi Trio "Linus and Lucy"
5:08am ET David Arkenstone "Joy to the World"
5:18am ET David Arkenstone "I Saw Three Ships"
-
That's surprising! :o
EDIT: Forgot to factor in that is is the overnight playlist, so that might have something to do wit it.
At least that one classic is gonna play once more! :thrilled:
-
Good so far! B)
"Carol of the Bells" by Ryan Farish at 8:18 AM ET.
-
"We Three Kings" by Ryan Farish at :28
-
Looks like we're gonna have our classic Christmas playlist for at least one more year!
-
Nice to hear our classics again
-
I'm glad to hear "I Saw Three Ships"! :)
...But I just heard some crappy rock vocal at 10:18 ET.
-
I'll admit that I was wrong about the kind of music I was expecting. I'm very glad there are many traditional, non-vocal songs chosen.
-
11:58am ET - The Song Factory and Bill McDermott -- "Joy to the World"
-
"Joy to the World" by David Arkenstone also played at 4:27AM ET

Carol of the Bells by Geresti at :18

1:58pm ET - "Star of Bethlehem" by John Williams
-
At :48 there was an instrumental rock version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen".. not sure of the artist though
-
Wow no vocals at all for the Christmas list?!?! They gotta do the same come January lol
-
Wow no vocals at all for the Christmas list?!?! They gotta do the same come January lol
Sorry to rain on your parade, but I heard a vocal song earlier, so it's not all instrumental. :P
-
Lol it's ok if they slip a few vocals on there. I like to hear feliz navidad...i'm praying that it'll play on primetime!
-
I think you all should be quite happy with this list. I imagine there will be a few new ones slipped into the primetime slot with mostly classic songs in other lists.
-
"Skating" at 4:38pm ET
-
"Joy to the World" by David Arkenstone also played at 4:27AM ET

As am I. It was instrumental and the end of it was apparently when the LF ended.
EDIT: Here it is.
Local Forecast - Unknown 2012 Holiday Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBOkXfAnk1A#ws)
EDIT #2: The song is entitled as "Morning Joy" by Neil Cross. Shazam ID'd it and I google'd it and came up with a match. :D

First Noel by Tony Craddock? That's smooth jazz
-
For Vince Guaraldi Trio "Christmas Time Is Here" Are they playing the instrumental or vocal version?
Since they play songs with vocals they could use both.
-
Oh, "Angels We Have Heard On High" by Chris Geith isn't on the list, I'm disappointed. :(
-
Some of the songs (Good King Joy and Joy to the World by Mark K) don't sound appropriate on the overnight either.
-
Oh, "Angels We Have Heard On High" by Chris Geith isn't on the list, I'm disappointed. :(

Oh, "Angels We Have Heard On High" by Chris Geith isn't on the list, I'm disappointed. :(
They haven't played any of Geith's songs this year for that matter. Guess it was jazzy for them

Steve Glotzer's holiday songs are jazzy, so I dont see how that could be a decision to not air it
-
Some of the songs (Good King Joy and Joy to the World by Mark K) don't sound appropriate on the overnight either.
ehh stop complaining... this is the best playlist TWC has had all year. Ill take it consider all the vocal junk that has aired this year

Let's all just be thankful there are less vocal songs in this playlist  I can pretty much guarantee that more vocal songs will return in the next playlist :itsok:

You're probably right. To everyone else, let's just be thankful that there's a reasonable Christmas list. I'm actually surprised to see the full list already posted here from Alex.

I just heard "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" 9:08 CT. Was it David Arkenstone?
