10/10 list for me
Also, is putting in their time-ins new for this playlist?
-
Not really, unless you email Picard directly
-
I like every song on this list except Geresti's version of "Carol of the Bells". I never liked that one.
-
thanks for posting the list, I got it sent to me at 9:39am this morning. I set my intellistar feed for thurday morning just in case the list starts.
-
Looks like some new songs. Might have to check it out this year...at least on LOT8s YT channel.
-
I can tell that I'm going to like the overnight section best out of this entire playlist. I'm not sure why there are three versions of "Carol of the Bells" and "Joy to the World" along with two versions of "We Three Kings" in the whole list. Maybe it's always been this way and I've never realized how many multiple versions there are in previous Christmas playlists.
-
I Saw Three Ships - David Arkenstone - Enchantment: A Magical Christmas
Heh. The song that never goes away!
Is this the earliest the list has played in the last 10 years?

It played around the same time last year.
-
Eh, not the best of playlists tbh. Needs more songs. I was hoping the BSM and Jeanne Ricks songs would be on this playlist again. I give ~7/10.
Hopefully Mr. Picard will add more songs as the playlist goes on like he did last year. Man, that playlist was the best!
-
I looked at the playlist again and realized something was different, I can't believe I missed it earlier. There's no Michael Colone music on this list. That's a first I think... I agree with you Mike, 2010 is a hard list to beat, but still think this one is good.
-
There's no Michael Colone music on this list.
What? There's no Christmas playlist without michael colone!!! :(
It's also missing March, Waltz of the Snowflakes, Rob Rafkin and Ottmar Liebert.
Looks like Arkenstone, Williams, and TSO dominate the playlist. :hmm:
-
I like this playlist. Sometimes having the same old songs playing every Christmas is not always a good thing. I'm always open to hearing new artists and songs, though I must admit that I'm bummed to see no Colone either.
-
I Saw Three Ships - David Arkenstone - Enchantment: A Magical Christmas
Heh. The song that never goes away!
Of course it never goes away. It's a 20+ year tradition, though, from 1995-1998 it took a break for those 4 Christmases. I remember the first time it was on, which was all the way back in 1989 and once more in 1990, as well. I hope they keep that song on for years to come.
-
I just noticed, but it's gonna be interesting to have Stanton Lanier's music outside of the overnight daypart.. :bleh:

I disagree, it's not like a regular playlist where if the same songs played in every playlist for a whole year. Were only gonna hear these songs for two weeks at the most so I'm not bothered by that. Although having new song or maybe songs that haven't played on a Christmas playlist in a very long time isn't bad either.
-
it's nice to have a list like this, especially finding out which songs/artists are copyrighted or not.
-
This is the first time I see the Holiday list posted, before it starts. On a separate note this is the 21st Holiday season ive followed TWC Holiday music.
-
This playlist looked great. Only flaws are the lack of Jeanne Ricks, Michael Colone, and a couple other.
-
Playlist started at 1:09am with Christmastime is Here by Vince Guaraldi
-
Just heard Joy to the World 2010 by Mark K
-
If anyone heard it, was the song that played at 8:58am ET "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" by David Arkenstone?
-
Yes.
-
Yes.
Thank you, I recorded that one and I need to add the song ID to the video file.

Over the course of the time the Holiday playlist is going, I'll be recording and posting LF videos along with everybody else. I'll start a little offbeat Twelve Days of Christmas series beginning Wednesday.
Merry Christmas!
-
I didn't think I was going to like this year's list compared to last year, but the more I hear some of these songs, the more I'm enjoying this year's Christmas playlist.
Best
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (David Arkenstone/John Tesh)
Good King Joy (Best T.S.O Song EVER! I dare someone to challenge that statement! :P)
The First Noel/O Little Town of Bethlehem by Tony Craddock Jr.
End Title to Home Alone (They really should have put the Main Title Theme on this Christmas list too, it would have made more sense)
-
Best
Morning: Hark the Herald Angels Sing - David Arkenstone
Daytime: Boughs of Holly - Trans Siberian Orchestra
Primetime: Silver Bells - Jeanne Ricks ( I love her version of this song)
Overnight: Tony Craddock - The First Noel
Worst
Morning: TSO - Christmas Eve Sarajevo
Daytime: Rob Geresti - Carol of the Bells
Primetime: David Foster - Carol of the Bells
Overnight: Bob Rafkin - O Little Town of Bethlehem (lacks melody and rhythm)
-
I'm so sick of TSO (on TWC and radio). A few years ago I loved them, but they have been overplayed.

Really? I've never heard about them until 2007 when their music first appeared on TWC's Christmas playlist

They play that "Carol of the Bells" song here a lot during Christmas. I was really into them for a few years. Then TWC started playing them a lot, and I got tired. They're an easy artist to get tired of since their songs sound a lot alike.
-
Which consequently is why I am not very fond of Trammells music. It's not a matter if the music is good or not, but his tunes all sound the same to me and it bores me quickly

Really? Wow! I don't think his songs sound the same at all. Well, he definitely has his own style, but the songs are different enough for me. Brian Hughes and Pat Metheny would be other examples of TWC artists whose music generally sounds the same. Ryan Farish is close to being in that group as well.
-
Yes, definitely agree with these artists, their stuff tends to be a bit bland. As for Ryan, I didn't think all his music sounds the same. He had a few new albums out with a different style (trance).
-
Trance Fury is another example. While I like his music a lot of his sound the same too.
-
Euge Groove is another artist too, and Craig Chaquico.
-
I miss hearing We Three Kings by David Arkenstone. That was my most favorite Christmas song on their playlist - out of most (if not all) of them pre-2008.

It's on the daytime playlist right now. ;)
-
Really?! I must have overlooked it. Thanks
-
Where can I find Bill Mcdermott/Song factory's "Christmas Instrumentals" I am stumped
-
When does the playlist stop? Does it stop tomorrow or a few days after?
-
It stopped early this morning
-
Has any Christmas playlist ever lasted past Christmas before? :dunno:

Last year's did.
-
This years playlist lasted from the 11th to the 26th. Last year's was from the 8th to the 27th.
-
It was actually the 9th that last year's started.. but I'm at least happy this year's managed to run for a similar timeframe.. at least it wasn't like 2009's, which it only ran for 6 days
