Those The Bunny the Bear songs sound way to heavy metal rock and don't fit the Local Forecasts.

At least they didn't use the vocal version of those TBTB songs, lol. :bleh: I'd much rather here those instrumental songs than Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Crowded Houses' "Weather With You" and whatever other vocal songs they've played in the past.
Sometimes I wonder if we're just listening to a "favorite pop/rock playlist" of the person in the music dept, and then they just throw in the occasional instrumental song for the hell of it.

I really like Event Horizon.
I actually just chatted with Claudio Fiore on Facebook. He seemed pretty ecstatic when I told him "Event Horizon" was being used during weather forecasts on a national channel in the US. https://www.facebook.com/claudiofiore.edm/posts/600942339949947 (https://www.facebook.com/claudiofiore.edm/posts/600942339949947)

I just heard "Good" by Better than Ezra at 9:48 AM. Was this on the August playlist or are they finally transitioning?

I'm pretty sure that that song was already on the list

The Playlist is changing.
"Annie Waits" - Ben Folds at 5:18 PM EDT
and "Sadie" - The Bunny the Bear has been moved or added to the morning

You know what amazes me?
I don't think I've seen a selection of music played to DEATH on this network as I have since the sudden directional change over to vocals. They just keep recycling the same 20 something songs over, and, over, and over again for the past 20 months as if these mainstream artists they're playing from are one hit wonders. I know they don't have the same open freedom to rights from these musicians as they do from indie artists from the past who were more likely open minded and embraced the exposure, but seriously you can't get rights to more than one song from these guys? :dunno:
I tune into TWC only about 5-10 mins. a day now. I don't mind the vocal music now, I just wish the variety was broader. Another thought occurred to me also, if the intent was to go vocal from the get go away from what they call quote, unquote, "elevator music" then why haven't they bothered to use vocal tracks from Smooth Jazz/Soft Rock/New Age musicians they used a lot in the past and make all the masses happy? It's kinda ironic, the group of members here (including me) years ago used to complain about the frequency of repeats when the music selection was mostly if not all instrumental, yet I think now that it's mostly vocal, the frequency of repeats is worse, a LOT worse.
[End what wasn't intentially supposed to be a rant, but by definition I guess it kinda turned into a rant?/] :P

I thought the same too. And I thought they had to stop smooth jazz because of budget problems in the music department as gt1RacerlHDl posted back in June. https://twctodayforums.com/forums/local-forecast/general-lf-discussion/4830/ (https://twctodayforums.com/forums/local-forecast/general-lf-discussion/4830/) Also back in 2009 when jazz was cut down when NBC bought TWC and something was said about getting pre built top 40 playlists from hit radio stations or something like that? Obviously would be a lot cheaper I heard? If that's true it's probably over the obsessive long form being added and probably the relaunch that is "supposed" to happen later this year is running them dry in cash? Who Knows? :dunno:. So the Vocals might only be temporary because budgets were cut significantly? Although how were they able to go all instrumental back in late May of this year because they might have to licence those songs. I tried emailing Melissa about this but "of course" no response. Maybe they were told not to respond because the production department didn't want to make any changes until the relaunch. So I think they know what we like, but can't afford to do it at this time? I am hoping for the best later this year. I wouldn't care if they put vocals back on Wake up with Al only.

Dont hold your breath on that one. I am not counting on instrumental music returning to the LF segments... I expect the LF to be removed altogether, and if not then all vocal music. :footinmouth: I watch TWC maybe 10 mina day, if that, and mute it when the LF comes up

At least they are still playing Matthew C. Shuman's piano instrumentals throughout out the day.
No offense to The Bunny the Bear but their songs are way to hard rock do not belong on the local forecast.
