Not too sure about the new music guy, but Steve's main job wasn't music; he did it in his spare time.

Yeah, I think Steve's main job is as a producer at TWC.

Yes I know, but it was still his job. it seems like no one in this country actually does their job these days. It makes me
very angry.

Any word yet on who this new guy is and any contact information?
Title: Re: August 2007 music
Post by: lfmusiclover on August 01, 2007, 01:55:19 PM
Don't get me wrong. I'm not disagreeing that he didn't do his job. All I'm saying is that his producing job probably required most of his time, so through no fault of his own the music gig took the backseat. As a result, he didn't do it as well as he could/should have.

Mike, no on both counts as far as I know.

Hope they play new music soon.

Me too. To be honest, the July playlist was not very good. It seemed like I was hearing the same three or four songs over and over again.

I wonder if the new music guy will do the "best of the year" playlist in December like what Steve did.

I would imagine he would.

I hope so as well. I emailed TWC about the August 2007 playlist (where is it!) and the contact info and name of the new TWC music programmer.

Title: Re: August 2007 music
Post by: G2003 on August 04, 2007, 01:36:07 PM
Why is that odd? Steve only worked on the weekends, and maybe this guy does too.
Title: Re: August 2007 music
Post by: lfmusiclover on August 04, 2007, 03:31:49 PM
And that is odd. I don't know how things work in Chicago, but here in Baltimore most people are off on the weekends. I'm pretty sure that across the entire country Monday-Friday are general thought of as business/working days, whilst the weekend is normally considered off days.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but what does Chicago and Baltimore have to do with this? TWC is in Atlanta.

Steve only worked weekends. He was a weekend producer. I don't know about Baltimore, but SOMEONE has to work on weekends to
keep businesses open.

Bottom line: I think its strange that Steve only works weekends, and I'll think the same if that turns out to be the case with the new guy.

I guess. I read in an interview that he only works weekends, and is a stay-at-home dad during the week. So that would explain why the music
seems to appear on the weekends

This guy is either doing Quarterly playlists, or every 2 months. Though i have heard a couple of new tracks recently.

I heard from a usually reliable source that the new music guy reinstated the old quarterly format.

Thats really sad when they don't care about their viewers. I ought to sue them for every penny they are worth (gee it cant be much :P)
Title: Re: August 2007 music

I wish the monthly playlists were back. Quarterly is just too long for music. Yuck, hearing the same music over and over again. I just wish they would play some Eddie Reasoner music. If any playlists plays at least 1 or 2 tunes from Eddie Reasoner, that'll make my day! :)

I like quarterly lists cause it plays longer, but it sucks if theres really horrible music (like this month)

I disagree. There were only a couple of songs that I liked, but all the others I didn't like at all. They could've done MUCH better, IMO.

Hmm, thats play list is quite inaccurate anyways.. I can guarentee you that

A) Vince Madison played in the month of July
B) There are some songs that are there that didnt play, and some songs that did play arnt listed.

I don't recall Vince Madison music being played. The playlist that I gave was exactly what was on TWC's playlist. Would you care to send in the correct July playlist then?
