Title: Hurricane Beatriz

Tropical storm Beatriz has now formed in the Pacific Ocean. It has max Sustained winds of 40mph and is expected to quickly become a hurricane. Current track forecasts show the storm possibly impacting the Mexican Coast near Manzanillo.

It looks very impressive on satellite. It looked so healthy that I almost thought it was a strong tropical storm this morning when I saw the Tropical Update.

The government of Mexico has issued these watches and warnings for Beatriz:

Sorry to double post, but Beatriz did become a hurricane along the Mexican coast at peak winds of 90 mph this morning.  It hugged the shoreline for several hours before turning away from land this afternoon.  The land interaction and cooling sea surface temperatures have weakened Beatriz back to a tropical storm now, and it'll eventually dissipate in a couple days over the open ocean.
