Yeah, what's weird is that on NHC's site, it says it's the remnants of Oscar.

EDIT: Now it's fixed. Guess I was too early.

Take it easy, folks.  There's no need to start an argument.  NHC probably had a bad file stuck somewhere when creating the advisory page.  This depression should easily make it to tropical storm status and earn the name of Erin later today.  It has a long way to go, but the forecast track appears to keep it well south for now.

Apparently, no one watched Sesame Street growing up.  For those who are unfamiliar with children's TV and with word play, Oscar the Grouch is a green monster that lives in a garbage can.

I'm quite familiar with that show, but calling someone a "grouch" even if meant to be playful can be perceived the wrong way in a big hurry.  Thus, it's not safe from my vantage point as a moderator to use that word toward others.  Let's please stop it here and focus on the weather:

Erin has winds of 40 mph.  The models are not enthusiastic about this tropical storm due to the stable and dry conditions aloft it will encounter after several days, and they even suggest Erin could weaken and dissipate in about a week.

Welcome to the forums Sam

I only got one word for Erin: FISH

and not a good looking fish either...

EDIT: In related news, Erin is now a depression as of the 11 am advisory. Well, that didn't take long to happen. It met a quicker demise than Chantal and Dorian combined.

Who would have ever thought this would happen?  I like never would have guessed that this thing would fall apart the way it has.

One thing's for sure, this hurricane season is everything I thought it would be.  The forecasters were bound to bust eventually after forecasting these above average seasons nearly every year.

It's fate was sealed from the very beginning. I thought it would at least have a little more fighting power though.

It moves to #1 as Most Pathetic Tropical Storm of 2013 (so far) beating Chantal by a nosehair.

Aren't you kind of jumping the gun with that statement? You can't really call this a bust when the season isn't even half over.

And of course Erin takes a page out of Dorian's handbook and comes back from the grave... :poke:

Somehow, I wonder if this year's hurricane season is going to be like this year's severe weather season?  Nothing, nothing, nothing...then, boom, an explosion of hurricanes, with a few of them being major.
