Pacific Watch: Tropical Storm Flossie

Normally I wouldn't bother with any East Pacific storms, but Flossie is worth mentioning, since it looks like she'll have a direct impact on Hawaii around Monday or so as a tropical storm.

Tropical storm warnings are blanketing the entire state of Hawaii now as Flossie approaches with 40 mph winds.  It's rare to see this moment.  Flossie might weaken to a tropical depression just as it reaches the eastern portions of Hawaii, but the mudslide and flood threat will be quite significant given the terrain.

Interesting how this storm is pulling a similar track of 2007's Flossie, except Hawaii is expected to take a direct hit from this storm (2007's storm passed just to the south).
