Hurricane Laura

Hurricane Laura has rapidly intensified into a monster Category 4 storm with 140 MPH winds, and is taking aim at the eastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana coasts.

The NHC key messages for this storm says it all:

I hope that all who are in the projected path for this storm have evacuated and will be safe. This no doubt is going to be a historic and horrific event, unfortunately. :(

The hurricane is still continuing to strengthen... now up to 150 MPH! Unbelievable. Reminds me of what happened with Michael in 2018... this may very well continue to strengthen until landfall.

Yeah... Laura has already really messed up SWLA/SETX. I went back to my home last night, which was inside of the eye, and was horrified with what I saw inside and around. We got off extremely lucky with just needing a new roof, pool liner, floor and other things, but it was the first time this house has been like this. We never flood and incredibly didn't this time. I feel horrible for the many people and places I know and have been to before that are now seriously damaged or crumbled.

Wow! I'm it was not worse for your house than it was. I am fascinated with the power of weather, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., but I hate the destruction, obliteration, injuries and deaths.
