Hurricane Iselle
« on: August 04, 2014, 01:56:47 PM »
Iselle in the Eastern Pacific is now a MAJOR Cat 4 hurricane with max sustained winds of 140 mph.  Very pretty storm, but Hawaii is in trouble and needs to start preparing for this.  The "good" news is that it should weaken to a tropical storm before striking the islands.

As hurricane Iselle threatens Hawaii they need to watch this carefully. And we get a chance to see Cantore get blown away again.

Interesting (and possibly historic) times ahead for Hawaii. The last time a hurricane struck there was 22 years ago when Hurricane Iniki struck the island chain in September 1992.

What is it with all these "I" named storms?! :fear:

This will be interesting to watch, though.  As of the 5 AM HST update, winds are now down to 80 mph, so we'll have to see if it does indeed remain a hurricane at landfall.  Either way, Hawaii is going to be in for a rough couple of days.

If you don't have The Weather Channel (then why are you on the forum?) here is a free one. http://weathernationtv.com/on_tv/
It's only available on Terrestrial TV but has a free stream.

This is for the 5% of people who don't have TWC.
