Title: Wind Chill Advisories
Post by: Mike M on August 22, 2010, 01:27:59 PM
Does the NWS still issue Wind Chill Advisories? I haven't been under one since early 2007, and we've certainly seen much colder temperatures with windy conditions since.

Yes, they still do.  The criteria varies for each NWS office.  I looked up your office's criteria and found that the wind chill has to be -10ºF or lower for at least 3 hours to warrant a wind chill advisory.  If it were to drop to -25ºF or lower for at least 3 hours, then a wind chill warning would be needed.
