Well, here's a climatological look at your chances of having a white Christmas each year courtesy of weather.com:

Well, the past few years, I've sort of been "saved". In 2007, I barely eeked out an inch of lake effect the nite before to technically have a white christmas that year. Last year, we had a big snow about a week before, and it didn't start melting until the next day. The last time I remember an appreciable snow right at Christmas was in 2002, but even then, it warmed up to 40 that day. But judging how this winter is going and is expected to be going, even my outlook for a white christmas is looking dismal.

Keep in mind, the official definition for a white christmas is to have at least an inch of snow on the ground at 7 AM that morning.

I think it may be possible that the Southeast gets some snow for at least Christmas Eve and maybe Christmas, the GFS model is already showing this, but that's too far out to take seriously, it's just eye candy now  :(

Well I have a good gut feeling it'll be COLD down here in the South, regardless of snow or no snow.

Many people in the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast will have a white Christmas with the leftover snow from the past winter storm.  I got 18" of snow, and it hasn't been warm enough to melt much of it.  Thus, I'll finally see my second ever white Christmas.  I hope there are others here who got lucky with the past snowstorm, too!

I'm very diappointed.  I thought this would be the year I finally got to experience a white Christmas, but as always this stupid storm had to go WAAAY north and screw us over like the past 3 storms has done this month for us, this time last week the models had a lot of the SE getting almost a foot of snow Christmas, I should have known that was too good to be true. :(

lol, with the way this winter has been going for me, I was thinking it would be too good to be true for me as well. I knew we would be looking at a green Christmas before the month of December even started. We're looking at some ice, but no snow until late in the day, and I doubt there will be any appreciable accumulations

No white Christmas Day, but yes white Christmas Eve!

It's a miracle...A White Christmas...2 inches of snow on the ground! :thrilled:

Last night was the first measurable snow amount on Christmas Eve since records were kept starting in 1898!!!
