85.9°F Mostly Cloudy

Another TS bust. Nothing more than just showers with embedded thunder. I haven't had one thunderstorm this entire year!, except for one thundershower in April.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

Craig, I will gladly trade with you.  I have had thunderstorms almost everyday this summer, and it does not appear that it will end soon.

Looks like we got some Ridge Riders heading my way. That should be interesting because it's been a while since we've had a complex of thunderstorms let alone two heading in my direction. The first one is in AL now heading ESE.

73°F Mostly Cloudy

There is finally hope on the horizon for this ridiculously wet pattern coming to an end here.  My area needs a break as Roanoke, VA at 12.15" is having the wettest July ever and the third wettest month ever since records began there in 1912, and Danville, VA at 9.00" is witnessing the wettest July ever on record.  Blacksburg, VA currently sits at 5.91" for July.

Warm and humid streak will end today as cold front comes through tonight and tomorrow, dropping dews and temps. Dews will go down into the upper 50's for the first time in over a month. Temps will drop into the mid and upper 60's for the first time in 5 weeks.

77°F Mostly Sunny

My area desperately needs a break from all the rain and flooding.  Some areas in the North Carolina mountains have received over 60" of rain this year with up to 20" in this month alone!  Here are three of the climate sites in my area:

Blacksburg, VA (records date back to 1952)
Since July 1:  7.44"  (3.59" above normal - 3rd wettest July ever)
Since June 1:  15.38"  (7.53" above normal)
2013 So Far:  37.25"  (12.06" above normal)

Roanoke, VA (records date back to 1912)
Since July 1:  12.59"  (8.95" above normal - wettest July ever & 2nd wettest month of all time)
Since June 1:  19.08"  (11.61" above normal)
2013 So Far:  39.62"  (15.45" above normal)

Danville, VA (records date back to 1948)
Since July 1:  10.10"  (5.94" above normal - wettest July ever & 6th wettest month of all time)
Since June 1:  16.04"  (8.03" above normal)
2013 So Far:  36.25"  (10.36" above normal)

82°F Clear

Last night PHL Airport had its all time record daily rainfall total of 8.02 inches. Seven of which fell within just a four hour period. :o

We're now at 13.00" (+9.07) for the month and 36.09" (+11.09") for the year. We've also broken the old monthly record rainfall for July of 10.42" (1994).

66°F and Fair. Our high today in Monroe, MI was 79°F, 5 degrees below the average high of 84°F. It was seasonably chilly on Sunday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies, isolated showers, and temperatures barely reaching 70°F. This weather has been great for the Monroe County Fair, which runs this week, and normally experiences hot and humid conditions. However, a few showers are possible tomorrow, so the weather may not be quite as ideal as it has been the past couple days.
