Winter Storm Watches already issued ahead of the Wednesday Storm here's some preliminary forecasted snow totals for Massachusetts

According to WHDH Boston (Attached)

WCVB (Attached)

WBZ - New England should be the jackpot this time, we are forecasting a widespread 8-to-14 inches of snowfall.

I think you forgot to attach some stuff.  :) (Guess I spoke too soon!)

Well, two weekends ago they forecasted misery and we had clear skies most of the day, and the "storm" amounted to nothing more than isolated flurries here.

Unfortunately, I don't think they're too wrong with this storm like they were with the last one, but I do wonder if their snowfall predictions are a little too high.

Are u sure too high  :D

Day Planner updated: TWC is saying a *Potential* of 2' of snow along the Providence and Boston I-95 Corridor, New England Blizzard of '11? we'll see.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/another-northeast-winter-storm_2011-01-09

A repeat of December 26 is possible as there is a chance that blizzard watches and warnings could be posted including New York City and coastal southern New England.

Winter storm watches have been posted by the National Weather Service from Maryland and Delaware to Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

This is nowhere near the Dec26 storm honestly. Blizzard warnings might be possible for some MA areas but thats pushing it I think.

I am going with the 0z GFS.

For what it's worth, the NAM did a better job with the QPF than the GFS did here in the SE with the southern stream low.

Map has updated. Much more believable. I can see that happening.

How can those totals be considered final?  It's still snowing here.   :dunno:

That might be the final snow total forecast but that map doesn't show storm reports.

Here are the latest updated totals

What Alex showed is the forecast for additional snowfall in his area.  Look at the time stamp on the bottom right saying "ending at 1 AM on the 13th".  Many NWS offices now do gridded forecasts like this map for additional snowfall from the current time to the end of the storm.  Always pay attention to the time stamp when looking at things! ;)

But thats a storm total forecast which includes additional snowfall correct? At least that was my understanding
