What Alex showed is the forecast for additional snowfall in his area.  Look at the time stamp on the bottom right saying "ending at 1 AM on the 13th".  Many NWS offices now do gridded forecasts like this map for additional snowfall from the current time to the end of the storm.  Always pay attention to the time stamp when looking at things! ;)
But thats a storm total forecast which includes additional snowfall correct? At least that was my understanding
Ugh, this graphic is not like what I've seen in other NWS offices.  Yes, it's a storm total forecast accounting for what has already fallen and what is forecast to come.  Other offices just do additional snowfall maps, which is what I thought it was at first until I read more on its description page.
