Oklahoma tornadoes

Today is the 10th anniversary of those devastating tornadoes that struck the Oklahoma City area on May 3rd 1999. An F5 withe winds measured up to 318mph struck Moore, OK. 36 people total died in the outbreak.

I still remember that outbreak quite clearly, and it's a very popular case study in Meteorology courses.  I can't believe that it's already been ten years. :blink:

I remember watching TWC coverage of the twisters nonstop that day. It amazes me how so many people haven't even heard of this twister to this date. :rolleyes: It really did provide valuable info to Meteorology students like vortex wind speeds, highway overpass risks, etc.
