Yesterday, Southern California was hit with showers and thundershowers and outside my window I saw a thundershower ahead (the radar showed red, heavy rain, and lightning was spotted). Anyway outside my window, i saw a stub in the clouds that got lower and took the shape of a funnel. I wasn't sure if it was spinning or not but it really looked like one.
Here's a picture from my cell phone:
-
Yes, that's a funnel cloud.
-
That does look like a funnel cloud, did you hear of any tornado reports after you took that picture?
-
No i didn't. but one time my dad told me that he saw a waterspout off the coastline but no warnings or reports were issued. That's why I'm not sure.
-
Yep, looks like one to me. Nice shot!
-
so i guess it is.
-
Maybe it's just me, or the way the picture was taken, but it looks like it's on the ground.
-
When I saw it, it looked like it touched the ground but I couldn't tell. If it did, then very little debris was flying since normally small tumble weeds and loose branches would be found there.
-
Now I know for sure it's a funnel cloud. Another witness who saw it but took no picture saw it spinning.

100% Funnel Cloud. That's a great shot! What kind of phone do you have?
