I get a 403 Forbidden Message when going to the Silverstar 8 Website.
Wish I had a WeatherSTAR 4000. Brings back memories.

Wow... I love it on how this topic still goes on and on. I know tha some people didn't like the beta, but I will say this. My mouth did drop when I saw the finnished part of SilverConnect. Devon did an excelent job on the graphics, and the programming. I also like it on how it isn't Visual Basic. When I saw it my mouth dropped. It was an amazing program... or OS. Behind the scenes, I thought that the way it was built was excelent, and clever.

Devon, I really hope that you succed in you work
Go on youtube and look at his profile (Number1twcfan) and see the SilverConnect program. It still needs work, but the graphics is outstanding, and how it retrieves the data :)

So Im supposed to be impressed by something that looks worse than a powerpoint emulations and entirely copied off of LO8s? Its NOT an OS and I have my doubts that its even software. Just another reason why I refuse to give out the AJ narrations. They would go to something like this. Gotta love how he tries to make it seem like vocal local. Sounds awful! Most likely the lost signal slides are inserted to make people thing this is actually something

I agree with you.

Who knows what they'll do with those narration sets?

If you don't believe it's an OS then look at the attached file.

That's the silverconnect OS booting from my PC. It doesn't work very well.. at all.. because of the hardware.

Oh, and keep this in mind next time you post something... If you don't know-don't say.
One more thing... It IS actully something.

How many thousands of lines of code does even a basic OS require? I can't remember.

Also, signature way too large.

Ok ill buy that you actually did more than create a powerpoint but as far as creating an OS I can assure you, you did not. Most likely some poor linux system you destroyed and thats what the mangled display you have going.  Doubt the problem is your hardware too

Just to be fair, the IntelliSTAR runs on FreeBSD, a modified one, but still FreeBSD.

Another point, even TWC didnt build an OS... Why would some guy living in his parents basement create an OS... Better yet, HOW could a guy living in his parents basement create an OS?

A Visual Basic application, I'll believe. A Java application, I'll believe. An OS? Nope. TWC didn't do it. I didn't do it. TWN did though!

Just watched the AVI.... Two things -- Where is the POST screen? Post a video of the POST screen going progressing to the OS and I'll believe you. and nice editing... I guess you edited out the "End of Slideshow. Click to Exit." screen.. nice!

Wait, a third thing -- maybe post some bootloader code? Just for proof :)

Last I checked, you kind of need a POST, as it's a power on self test, meaning it tests to see that everything's there and if something's wrong, depending on what you set in the BIOS, it'll either halt or continue on. Last I checked, all computers, even today's most advanced ones, have some sort of test when you press the power button, one way or another.

If you're responding to me, it was a joke, haha.

And yeah, to their defense it could be one that is so fast you can see it like my laptop, but I doubt it.
