I don't use Facebook, but I thought I'd pass this along to you guys that do.

Cable News Network (March 25):
http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/03/25/facebook.security.ap/index.html
"Security lapse exposes Facebook photos"

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- A security lapse made it possible for unwelcome strangers to peruse personal photos posted on Facebook Inc.'s popular online hangout, circumventing a recent upgrade to the Web site's privacy controls.

That's actually old news. The hack doesn't work now. Facebook fixed it. :shades:

Okay, I saw this on the CNN site earlier and thought regardless of the updated status of the issue, I'd give a heads up just in case.

I fixed the link, so it should work now.

I thought I'd post this for my fellow members here at TWC Today who are a part of Facebook.

Apparently there is yet another problem with Facebook's security to be aware of and to take precautions. Click on the link below for the entire article.

PC World's news page (August 7):
Malicious hackers use Facebook Wall for malware attack

Facebook users are being targeted by malicious hackers through postings on the popular Wall section of the social-networking site, security company Sophos said Thursday.

The Wall, a core feature of Facebook profile pages, is used by members to leave each other messages that in addition to text can also contain photos, videos, music and links to Web sites.

The malware attack comes in the form of a Wall message supposedly posted by a friend that urges members to click on a link to view a video on a Web site supposedly hosted by Google, said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos.

Here's my problem with that comment: the entire Internet is "dangerous." So what? If people have such a huge problem with it, then get off the Internet!

I have to agree with Tyler. The entire internet can be dangerous if you don't use it properly. IMO, its just a matter of using common sense.

It has nothing to do with which websites people visit.

Exactly.  There's nothing more to it.
