Recent entry from YouTube's Blog (Click here for full article) (http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2009/09/warner-music-comes-back-to-youtube.html)
Music Licensing: It's complicated. Let's face it. But today all of that is beside the point: we are happy to announce that Warner Music Group (WMG)'s artists are returning home to YouTube. Under this new, multi-year global agreement, you will be able to discover, watch and share Warner music on the site. The partnership covers the full Warner catalog and includes user-generated content containing WMG acts.
It seems my letter to WMG FINALLY broke through.
-
Finally!!! There are some of us here that are really against WMG, now Youtube is finally listening to us members! This is an awesome breakthough IMO. Great job!
-
I would still do an upload test first just to make sure before saying that everyone can upload WMG songs again on YouTube. I couldn't find anything in the article that explicitly says the copyrighting of WMG music will end. You may have to give some kind of credit to WMG in a video description to ensure that it won't get flagged.
-
That's good, hopefully I can reuploaded my copyrighted songs there.
-
I'll upload the Winged Mammal Theme as a test to see if this verifies.
-
Wow, this is incredible! I concur with Patrick that it is a good idea to give credit and do tests, but now it appears to be far less of a concern!

Wow, it's about time! Hello to more 2005 clips to my YT account! :D

lol, I hope they do as well as they did before WMG's problem on youtube :)
I uploaded a test clip of WMT on the St Ignace XL, but it is taking a ridiculous amount of time to process.

And that's precisely why it's not processing on time. Too many people at once are uploading clips.

I look forward to see it since it's my favorite song this month! :D

DO NOT UPLOAD ANY WMG CLIPS.
I just got this message uploading one of my April '09 clips:

Your video, Weather CHannel , may include content that is owned or licensed by these content owners:

Just give it a few weeks THEN upload. ;)
-
I'm not removing the clip though since it may be unmuted then.

Well, it appears as though my test clip was successful :D

It failed for me. :(

Are you sure you didn't use the dispute feature? :P

Affirmative :P
I've already done that a couple times, and don't want to risk losing my account again.
-
I hope this lasts because I have never gotten any warnings from Youtube.

Well, I have already received one point from Viacom back in February (after accidentally uploading a camera clip of Home Improvement instead of a Petoskey clip, which were in the same album), so you're in a better situation than me :P
-
This is great news!!!
-
I tried reuploading my WMT clips from 2005 and they still got removed, so I'll give it a few more days.
-
Do NOT upload anything from WMG! I just discovered that the YouTube accounts of Zach and Aaron were suspended because they both had uploaded a WMG clip. I knew this news article was too good to be true.

Under this new, multi-year global agreement, you will be able to discover, watch and share Warner music on the site.
NOWHERE it said you can UPLOAD WMG music. I know you two took the risk, but I realized that this quote made it clear.
-
For some strange reason, Zach's account is now back, and his WMG video works again. Aaron's account is still suspended, so I have no idea what YouTube or WMG are doing right now. I would still avoid uploading WMG music given all these problems that have occurred.

Well since we are getting technical here, I believe I do see the word share in that quote. Zach and I didn't necessarily undertake any risk, but did tests to see if it would work. Nothing happened to my video, so I assumed it was fine, and did not think to remove it. If my account does not come back by 10 PM EDT tonite, I will have to open a new one.
I don't get it though, you need 3 strikes for your account to be suspended. Even though I already had one, I still needed 2 more (not just 1) to be suspended.
-
So, is this agreement just a joke or what?
-
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve reached a new and expanded agreement with Google and its YouTube subsidiary that will bring WMG content back to the service as early as the end of the year.

It makes sense that it would take a few months to establish and get a proper agreement with all of those WMG artists back on Youtube.

Correct.
Yes Zach's account is back, so I assumed it was a temporary suspension.
-
More weird news... Aaron's socool775 account is back.

Which leaves me in a rut... I don't know what to do. I was planning on reuploading everything on my new account, and I wanted to so I can finally have everything uploaded in chronological order.
I really had thought that the words "your account has been permanently disabled" really meant permanently.
-
Wow, this is odd

So, it looks like those were just temporary suspensions as both of them did not have 3 strikes yet. I get the feeling when I read more about this WMG agreement that their partners will upload their music to share to us, but we still may not be able to share WMG music to others by uploading it ourselves. Furthermore, this isn't going into effect for a while. Regardless, I don't think it's worth the hassle anymore. I'm just glad Zach and Aaron are back online.

Exactly. That's what I thought. They were both temporary.
