When connecting a camcorder to the PC...
« on: April 26, 2008, 10:09:06 PM »
what program do u guys use when transfering video from ur camcorder to the PC? I tried Movie Maker didn't work, tried to go to Control Panel and clicked install new "scanners and cameras" didn't work. so???

I have an old Sony Network Handycam Bluetooth camcroder from 2002. Is age a factor on why i can't transfer videos to my PC?

Please tell me what programs u used to upload videos from your digital camera/camcorder.

With my digital camera, there is a setting in the camera's software that lets you chose whether the computer sees it as a camera, or a disk drive. I chose disk drive, then just drag and drop. I know it's not the same thing, but maybe theres a similar option.

At times, my camcorder is recognized. At other times it doesn't.

Sometimes the camera needs to be plugged in before you turn your camera on, I've noticed this at work quite a bit, gets very annoying.

I use Avid Media Composer to capture my videos.

Actually, the software costs $4,995.00 but the software is 100% useless with out the Avid hardware that comes with it, which costs $25,950.00. :) In the end, Avid Media Composer, full costs about $30,000.

I'll ask questions in other forums from now on. You people are anything but helpful <_<

EDIT: All I asked was a question, and you took advantage of it and turned it into some joke.

Victor, do what you want.. Bottom line you have asked us many times here, many, many times how to do this. We have all shared how we do it, and nothing works for you becuase oh I don't know, your camera doesnt have a lens, or your neighbours TV isn't set to the right channel. We have done all that we can to help you, and have given you working solutions to your problem.
