What Studio Set of TWC Do/Did You Like The Best?
« on: July 23, 2012, 08:55:39 PM »
Random topic, I know. It's just something that crossed my mind today, but I'm curious to know, what set in your opinion was the best and why? I'm no history buff when it comes to all the sets, so if I missed one or I have the years they were in use incorrect, please correct me. I would say my favorite is a tie betweenThe Forecast Center Set and the March 1997 set because that dang globe, it looks so cool spinning in the background.

May 1982 - 1986??? First Set, Simple and Clean

A Little More Lively and Colorful

Weather You Can Always Turn To In The "Forecast Center"

March 1997 - 2000??? The Infamously HUGE Golden Globe! "News-Like Set"

Let's Live By It, Yeah, Let's Do That

Let's Live By It Again! Global Forecasting Center Takes Center Stage

August 2005 - August 2008 Global Forecasting Center As The Backdrop

June 2008 - Present The Weather Has Never Looked Better in HIGH DEFINITION!

Just a note, the "August 2005 - August 2008 Global Forecasting Center As The Backdrop" has been used before August 2005 (hence if you look closely, the 96-05 logo is on the backdrop ;)), but in reality, the March 1997 was the same through 2008, just with several changes.

But Wait! There's more!

Atmospheres (2000-2003)

Abrams and Bettes: Beyond The Forecast (September 2006 - June 2008)

Weekend View Set (It's Like Looking At A Weather Version of "The View" - Now THAT should have been their signature slogan :P

Lightning Rod with Mark Elliot and Mary Cobb (2010) Currently DMC if I'm not mistaken. On a side note, I think it's easy to see who got their demands met out of this duo, look at who has the stool to sit down on!

Wake Up With Al (July 2009 - Present I know it's not technically in ATL, but I threw it in anyway since it is apart of TWC)

Out of the second set I posted, Abrams and Bettes: Beyond The Forecast is my absolute favorite! I was VERY disappointed to see that set go by the wayside so early. It was colorful, unique, and vibrant. It also made me thoroughly enjoy the Abrams and Bettes duo more and more. Flash forward 4 years later: I cannot stand Stephanie anymore, not sure if it's her detached chemistry with Mike since being paired with Al Roker or what, but I get annoyed watching her as of late, Mike on the other hand I enjoy seeing, he's gotten much more laid back and humorous.

The "big desk" (Studio 1A) was always a favorite of mine.

I also liked the original Weekend View set; it was unique and fit the show's "casual" theme quite well. B)

Definitely the 1997-2008 studio set, especially the FO, WV, and A&B sets. It gave each show some individuality. I also really liked the 2005-2008 backdrops as well.

To be honest, I like the newer HD set. I additionally like the one with the huge globe ("News-Like Set" or something of the like).

;)
Thanks NBC Comcast for driving me away from TWC. You've officially made TWC junk, NBC Comcast.
