For the past year, I've been work with school administration officials to create a new public image for the school district. This includes letter head, outdoor traffic signs, posters, and much more. Below is just a sampling of my work. I'll post more later on. I'm responsible for creating, printing and delivering all the materials. In return, I am receiving all my necessary community service hour needed for graduation (a requirement). The plan is that after school is out for the summer, they will hire me full time (8 hour day M-F) to do work for them graphic-related, until I move to college. Pretty neat IMO.

Wow, very neat that your school let you make all those signs. Great job!

It's a phrase (pronounced "Quit-yer-belly-aching") a popular teacher says regularly. Believe me, it's a lot easier to read on the 5 foot sign.

Wait, so does this mean that when the school puts locks on your lockers at school, you have to deposit $5? wtf.

Wait, so does this mean that when the school puts locks on your lockers at school, you have to deposit $5? wtf.
The new policy means that if you want a lock on your locker, you MUST use a SCHOOL-ISSUED lock, not a personal one. To obtain a school lock, you have to deposit $5, all of which will be given back when you return the lock to the office. The reason they are requiring you to use a school lock is so if they school cut off your lock (lost key, searching of locker, etc), they won't have to pay for it.
-
my school used combination locks, in which they can change the combination with a key, and they have it on file of who's lock it is, etc... if they need to get in, they just use the key, and pop! off comes the lock.
-
All of the schools I have been to that use lockers have locks built into them (at least the hall lockers, not sure about the gym ones). There is a key slot in all of the lockers in case someone forgets their combination or if their locker is jammed. My current school's lockers are big too... I can put my backpack and coat in there and still have plenty of room to put all of my books in there. I don't use mine much, since I carry my bag with me all day (my school is WAY too big to make stops to the locker every period).

I never used my locker at all when I was in high school. I too found that getting to my locker from certain points in the school was just too much of a hassle because of how long it would take to get there. I simply carried my backpack and coat with me all day. Fortunately I had NO books to carry around, because there was only one set of books for each class, which meant we didn't get our own copy. The only exception, actually, was algebra. We did get our own algebra book. But that's it.

I havent even walked passed my locker in weeks... I don't have a lot of stuff.
My gym locker is the worst though. It's small and the lock sucks.

there were guys in my gym classes who would *NEVER* wash their clothes in the entire 185 school days. All they would use is some clothes fabric freshener. That is very disgusting, and I'm surprise the guys didn't catch any diseases or anything. ugh

I like how the "no bulling" looks EXACTLY like KHOU's current logo, just a different color. :p

I've yet to wash mine. :P I don't want it to shrink, cause then I'd have to buy another one. They're like $30.

LOL, in my experience small guys like us don't have much reason to worry about that. Don't know how gym clothes are made these days, but they used to be made in a way that even the smallest size was a little big. I never had to worry about shrinking them too much! :P
-
I don't really need to. I'm a very clean person, and I never sweat during gym class.

The football team essentially rips off the Army Strong campaign - and I did the designs for it. They hang inside each building:

Please, just shut up. I already dealt with one "Mac geek/PC Hater" today by telling him to "shove his fist up his fish-smelling c~nt." I then proceeded to call him "fu˘*ing blond kid" (to make fun of his disgustingly died hair). Yes, I was in a foul mood and on top of that I don't feel good, AND I was having an all-around suck-ass day. The little prick filled out a bully form and turned me in.
There's more to the story but I don't feel like explaining at this moment.

You would of ended up at the principals office if you said that to me too (no offense). My school does NOT tolerate that kind of talk.
I had a similar issue today, in fact. This morning before homeroom someone who is a bully said "whats up" to me. I never talk to bullies so I ignored him and walked passed him and he said BS (the full word). I asked him to repeat what he said and he claimed he said nothing to me (I KNOW he said that). After I walked away and he yelled across the hall a name I do not like being referred to as. <_<

You know Mike, that's a mistake. It's better to try and be sociable and just say what's up. Being sociable will go a long way. Trust me, if I could do it over again, I'd be much more social than I was. I was quite like you. when someone I thought was a bull said what's up I wouldn't respond. But I should have. If you try to get along with people they won't bother you. There's no better way to show someone your not bothered than by being chipper and saying what's up when they say it to you.

Funny thing is, no punishment. The principal knew what a douche the kid was. This is the first time in a long time I've done anything "bad" at school.

That's a lot easier said than done for some. Myself included.

I understand that. That's why you have to actively work at it. Trust me, it was terribly difficult for me to open up an be more social. But believe me, it's the right thing to do. You'll be far better off.
