A big thanks to those of you who have considered working with us. For you folks who agreed to join us, welcome aboard. For you still considering, please take your time.

The Weather Center will now start regular operations today. Our goal is to provide opportunities to practice forecasting for weather enthusiasts, whether they are enrolled in a college program, or are still in middle or high school. We have several offices you can elect to join and assist with, and more may be opened as the weeks progress. Below is the list of offices we have running:
  • Hydrology and Winter Weather Office: Forecasts total rainfall and assesses the risk of flash flooding. During the fall and winter months, forecasts total snowfall and issues statements on blizzards or other winter storms.
  • Severe Weather Office: Makes daily forecasts for severe weather potential, assigns risk areas as necessary, and may issue "watches" in close coordination with the National Weather Service.
  • Tropical Weather Office: Tracks tropical systems, issues advisories and discussions as necessary.

We also have four local offices operating, based out of Chattanooga, TN; Charleston, SC; Grand Forks, ND; and Cleveland, OH. You are more than welcome to open a local office with us. Just let us know, and we'll have your page set up within the hour.

Here is our website link. Feel free to check us out!

Hi guys, we've posted here before about forecasting for our organization and have had very few to respond. Forecaster might not have been the term needed to describe every job we need, and one of those not listed was graphics producer. I need one if not several slots filled in the Graphics department and if you have time to devote to us, please contact me on this forum via Private messaging or you may email me. In addition, we do need forecasters for our various offices, anyone with time and meteorological knowledge may work with us. Please, if you have any questions, get with me and I'll see that they are answered. Thanks, Don.

For anyone interested in the weather for our friends to the north, The Weather Center will be opening up a Canadian weather office, covering all provinces. A link to the page will be provided shortly.

Double post. A few more local offices are in the works here. Our Seattle office is now operational, and a Concord Massachusetts office may also be in the works. We'll release links as we can.

In an effort to preserve office coordination, we have split the country into various regions, with certain offices acting as headquarters for each reason. It's almost identical to the Regional Headquarters of the NWS.

Attached is a map of the regions. The list of open offices and the head offices of each region are listed below.

New England Region
No offices open at this time.
Head Office: New York, NY

Southern Region
Atlanta, GA
Charleston, SC
Head Office: Dallas, TX

Midwest Region
Grand Forks, ND
Head Office: Chicago, IL

Western Region
Seattle, WA
Head Office: Denver, CO

Hey folks. Just wanted to show off a small vid that we recorded just a few minutes ago with test material for our stream. Complete with a fully functional lower-thirds bar. A few minor city display errors near the end, along with a small bit of lag between cities, but otherwise it looks good. Market data is reserved for slow days. What do you guys think?
